Golden Tulip West Ende

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location. We were delighted to arrive and find we had a duplex room on the 7th floor - unfortunately the air con was terrible, made quite a lot of noise and didn’t cool the room down at all which meant we needed the window open all night. In the middle of the town that’s not the formula for a good night’s sleep! Friendly staff, good restaurant and in terms of overall quality a nice hotel.

I stayed at Fletcher last October during 1,5 weeks professional visit to Helmond. Overall, I liked the hotel: quiet location, nice rooms (the closet could be bigger) and efficient service. The bowling quarter is a plus and the gym near the entrance is also a nice view. What I didn't like so much: inside the room, one can hear people passing by on the corridor and on nearby rooms (e.g. having a shower), and that gets annoying especially at dawn, for someone who has a light sleep as me. The other minus was that breakfast was expensive, especially if we consider that there are not many choices around (none to be exact - downtown is at about 15min walking), and it feels like they are taking advantage of it.

Parking is probably the biggest disadvantage of this hotel. You need to find a parking spot somewhere within the town and then walk to this centrally located hotel. Good luck in finding a parking machine that actually works and then having to play time roulette to see if you avoid a parking fine! The hotel is very basic but very friendly. Very basic rooms but ideal for a centrally-located hotel. Only stopped here for the one night so that I could visit the nearby museum Bevrijdende Vleugels (the Liberation museum) as I drove around Northern Europe.
