Moore House

For our first visit to Hastings we stayed at Moore House. We were very well cared for in our quiet and comfortable room. Breakfast was wonderfull. too.

Lovely, boutique B&B. check in process very simple. Room was clean and nicely decorated (RX2). Great location close to many good bars and places to eat. Breakfast was good and the staff member we saw on our stay was very friendly and smiley. Only negatives for us: no hooks or rails in the bathroom so nowhere to hang towels. Only one coat hanger provided in the wardrobe.

What an absolute jem. Tucked away on the high street. Lovey and quiet with beautiful quirky rooms. Fresh milk and water in the fridge on arrival. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of options. Although thete is no parking there ate a couple of options not too far away.

The room we stayed in had the wow factor. From the roll top bath to the luxurious bed. The breakfast was delicious. And the staffs attention to detail was on point. There isn’t anything that we could fault about our stay at The Moore House.

A lovely hotel, very clean and the decor is contemporary but tasteful. Close to all areas of old Hastings with a good choice of restaurants and pubs close by. Breakfast is excellent whatever you choose and all the staff we met were very helpful and friendly a true gem hidden away in the old town. The only down side is that there is no parking at the hotel, but there are public car parks close by, or use Park on My Drive.

We were happy with everything except the lack of parking. The site said there was onsite parking and there was not. The whole holiday I was preoccupied by parking issues as my mother has walking difficulties. The pay and desplay caroark was 5 minutes walk away and I had to swing by the hotel each time to pick mum up or drop her off. We spent over 70 pounds on parking fees which were from 7 am to 9 pm. We found the hotel to be expensive but chose it due to location and having on site parking this was untrue and misleading and the hotel said this error was down to hotel.com. This on top of my reward points being canceled the week before means I am unhappy with ********** and feel I will not book with them in the future as my idea of being a solid trusting company is no longer unless you can put right this situation in some way. The place is spotless and clean , beautifully decorated and the breakfast was superb ( altho no dairy free yogurt available for our 2 nights stay ) . Good coffee facilities in the rooms , nice toiletries and a large ( but noisy ) fan provided in the room . We stayed in RX 6 unfortunately a pigeon had decided to nest on the roof directly above the bed and we could hear it all day and night cooing which got a bit like water torture, I know this cannot be helped but as it did impact on our stay it deserves mentioning , also the bed was sloped and my husband kept rolling towards the edge , this needs a wedge of some sort under it to level it up , again I appreciate it's an old building and is not level as we could tell from the camber of the other furniture but I feel this would have made our stay more pleasant, we actually bought some books and shoved them under the leg to level it up for our second night as the first was a struggle. The bedding and towels were lovely as was the shower and bathroom was spotlessly clean We did stay when the place was I believe full and of course got the squealers coming Ng in at 2.30 am making lots of noise and having complete disregarde for anyone else , again this is not something you are responsible for but maybe a notice about being quiet as the sound did travel all the way up to the top floor I would stay again , with earplugs and hopefully in a level bed next time , The staff were all very courteous at breakfast in the morning

This hotel is an Oasis. The surrounding area does not look great and entry is simply through a gate between two shops. What a surprise on entry. The whole experience of friendliness cleanliness and comfort was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel. The food in the wine bar is also good
