My boyfriend and I spent one night in the Friendship Room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was cozy, cute, comfortable, and clean, and the interior stone wall was super cool. The shower was warm and refreshing after our long hike. Our goal was to be able to sip our morning coffee on the porch and see the mountains and we happily achieved that in the Friendship Room (the doors of this room open up directly to the front porch). In such a historic town, it was a treat to stay in such a historic Inn. All the staff we met were very friendly and accommodating (thank you for holding our bags and explaining that we need both the NPS and Inn parking passes!). The only downside was the sound of frequent freight trains from about 11 pm until 2 am, but earplugs helped solve that. We'll definitely be coming back!

Saw the video on YouTube. Pic of 4 women 3rd from left has a smile that could brighten any room. Taking a vaca there in March 2024. Hope to see that smile greet us. Wondering if the wax museum across the street is open? Know its for sale a d part of the trip down there from ct.

Historic hotel right on the main street of Harpers Ferry, WV, directly in the center of all the beautiful shops along that road 😊 I agree with some of the reviews that say this is a bit rustic, yet given that it is indeed, a historic hotel the rustic part goes along with the territory, and is, indeed what you will love about staying here. Harpers Ferry is certainly worth the trip, and it’s especially beautiful in the spring time.

Inn owner was very gracious. As were others on staff. All sorts of snacks and other food and beverages available. Country store had lots of interesting things with great prices...educational items for kids. On Main Street...convenient. Lots of blankets, etc. Just one negative...Our room, Friendship, needs work on bathroom. No ledge keeping shower water from toilet area. We solved with rolled up towels.

Our family stayed in the 1820s Suite for 1 night. 2 adults, a 19 year old and an 11 year old. We absolutely loved it! It was super unique and unlike what you'll experience at a boring run of the mill hotel. There is so much history in this building. We enjoyed exploring, marveling over the architecture and sleeping comfortably. There were plenty of heaters throughout the suite as well as blankets, books and games. We really enjoyed our stay and we plan to come back again. The reception area/cafe with lots of self-serve items was awesome. The owner, Karan, was so pleasant to speak with, was very knowledgeable about the area and genuinely cared about us having a nice stay. If you're looking for a fancy 5 star hotel, this is not the place. If you want an awesome, historic building that is comfortable and safe. You can't go wrong while staying in Harpers Ferry.

Food was subpar, but thankfully this area is surrounded by great restaurants in walking distance. Rooms felt cramped and I didn’t like the defensive nature of owner. Nice room though. Beautiful area, but you’d be better off at the Clarion or Quality a few blocks away.

--*Multi-generational family travelling*-- The 1820's Suite--We've stayed nearby before, but staying IN TOWN was a whole new experience. Waking up and walking out onto the patio right to high street was such a treat with the morning light. I loved being able to disconnect as there was no T.V. or phone in the room. Because we had kids (8 & 12), I was happy to be on the bottom floor because the kids aren't the quietest, but this place is so family-friendly! There are games in the room like pictionary, checkers, mancala, etc. But outside, there were cornhole boards and a tether-tennis game that fit perfectly in the front space, and the kids had a blast. If you've ever traveled around Europe, this place has that same vibe and we loved it! Karan and Glenda were incredible hostesses and were a goldmine of information & conversation. I love the kitchen setup! The marketplace has just about anything you'd need and you can take over the kitchen to cook whatever your heart desires. My kids joked about making a cake, and the ladies said we could if we wanted to and how other people HAVE! She said as long as the hard stuff was scraped, they would take care of the dishes. The location could not be beat; up the hill is the churchyard and Jefferson Rock, and below is the river and train tracks. It's even a neat place just to sit and peoplewatch from if your legs have had it with all the hills/stairs. The kids were ecstatic to find the bunkbed, and my mom said the daybed was really comfortable. My kids got into a spat before bed one night so my daughter moved to the couch and said it was really comfy too! The main, big bed was firm, and there were plenty of blankets to keep everyone cozy. The bathroom was a step down into an old hallway that was closed off, and a wet bathroom put in, which was really neat and super clean. There was an inner staircase for us to go up to the kitchen/reception for our coffee/tea, and the kids loved spotting the old-style keys along the staircase.

Delightful stay for three different nights over 2 weeks, while hiking 75 miles across WV/MD/VA on the AT! Couldn't have been happier! Karan, Glenda, ***le, and all the staff were phenomenal. Perfect location in a very quaint, enjoyable town. Delectable homemade muffins, cookies, and the free coffee flowed. Lots of fantastic restaurants in walking distance. Fun shops and fascinating history. The Shendoah room with a private bath and sitting area gave just the reprieve I needed after a couple of outings on the trail! Hope to make it back!

I’ve never paid so much for so little. Accommodations are basic at best. It’s ok if your expectations are low. It’s a haven for Appalachian Trail folk, and there stories and the convenient in town location make up for some of the inconveniences in the rooms. Not barrier free. Hard to load and unload unless the traffic officer is there. Parking is at a distance. No breakfast.
