When we pulled up outside the hotel, it was beautiful, lobby, reception very nice, people very friendly. Perfect location for walkers. The room ruined the whole experience. Depressing, very dated, tired old damaged furniture, dirty old lamp shades, the bed was rockhard with a thin feather pillow and no pillow protector. The bathroom was also dated and very small with a leaky shower hose. The food in the restaurant was not of very high standard for a hotel restaurant. The special arrangement they offered was a steak and brocolli, very basice normal home cooking, nothing exciting. A la carte very limited and also very basic. The restaurant staff absolutely perfect, the waitress dealt with issues in a very professional way. Overall we were very disappointed and will not return nor recommend. Definately not a 4 star hotel.

Great hospitaliti,everything was clean, Service excellent. Short walk to the Train Station to take the Train to Freiburg Dog friendly, perfect surrounding for hiking or biking. The food was also very good and special wishes no problem at all.

I spent a week on vacation with my family at this pleasant hotel. The hotel is in a good location for those who want to explore the Freiburg region, the Black Forest and Alsace. It is peaceful and quiet, with a great balcony to enjoy the local cuisine. The hotel staff are polite, friendly and efficient in attending all needs of guests. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide more incentives/information about the use of the leisure areas. We will definitely be back again.

On arrival staff were friendly and check in was smooth. The room itself was clean but very dated as was the bathroom. The WiFi, although advertised, didn’t work for me. I had an evening meal which was very nice. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and tasted nice. I feel this hotel is a little overpriced for the facilities it offers.

Fabulous location and family run hotel off the beaten track in the Black Forest. The double room was spacious with a big balcony with stunning views all around. Perfect starting and ending point to explore the Black Forest - the staff were accommodating to me and my dog, and the breakfast was great along with the buffet dinner on night 1. Only snag was had to drive to Freiburg on night 2 as restaurant closed due to national day, no dramas as 30 min round trip.

It is exactly as advertised Not luxury (no a/c, small showers) but peaceful relaxing friendly Breakfast was excellent and quite a variety We had the dinner buffet one night I would rate this as 4/5 for a buffet Enjoyed it Nice relaxing yard to sit in Close drive to many Black Forest activities

My husband and I stayed three days and were treated like royalty. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfasts were much better than expected. We ate dinner one night in the dining room and the food was delicious. I would recommend this beautiful hotel to my friends.
