I stayed 4 nights at the Hotel ****** Plaza on my recent trip to Guadalajara. Every night there was an excess of noise through the walls from other rooms - loud TV's, people leaving their room doors open and talking loudly, kids running in the hallways. On the saturday night of my stay there is a club nearby the hotel and loud music was thumping all night until 4am. The excess noise aside and poor night sleeps I had every night, this is a decent hotel, well located in a central area of the city. The rooms are nicely appointed. The staff were of average friendliness, but did not appear to enjoy being of service to hotel guests. I will not stay here on my next trip to Guadalajara.

Stayed here for one week in September 2020, in a Jacuzzi suite. We found the hotel to be a wonderful place to stay..... Location on a busy street was not a problem for noise. Short walk to Centro Historico, and a quick Uber to everywhere else we went. Room was large, clean and well appointed. Jacuzzi worked well. Cleaning staff were very nice. Due to COVID, the protocols were well explained and the hotel was efficient in handling people coming in and out. Front desk staff were friendly. The Bar/Restaurant was quiet, great service, food was not the greatest but it was not bad.... I give it a 6.5 to 7 All in all... highly recommend this hotel.... price is competitive with other places.

I recently stayed at Dali plaza and had a mixed experience. I booked a room with a city view online, but upon arrival, I was given a room without the promised view. It was disappointing to not get what I expected, especially on the first night. Fortunately, the hotel corrected the issue for the second night, and I finally got the room with the city view I had booked. While I appreciate the resolution, it would have been better if I had received the correct room from the start.

Good location but warning: The tile floors are very slippery especially when they slip. The rest of me fell and was badly injured enough to ask for a walker for the rest of our stay. There were 3 mobility on our trip - there were people who were challenged and they all said the same, so be careful. They don't have towels. Pillows don't stay on pillows. AC/heating was very difficult to work. There was a room safe but no one could open to keep my passport. They also changed the door–after the night of the street and half of the group had to take the new key after the day trip. Buffet breakfast was not very good but I did it because it was included in the room rate. As I said, the location is good but I would not recommend this place.

Food at the hotel wasn't very good but it was cheap hotel was in a relatively good location but the rooms didn't look like the pictures. There's a lot of junk on the same floor as the swimming pool. The curtains could use a good cleaning the room doesn't look sparkly. I like the colonial architecture and the location but I would not stay there again I would stay someplace a little nicer. My room was also pretty small.

Travel in November 2019 in a family plan, rooms are spacious and clean, friendly staff but their only bad point is the location, the center area where you are located is nothing safe, It is about two squares from the catedral walking you get easily, but I recommend that if you go to the hotel walking during your stay, do it at good time, passing 9 pm is a lonely and unsafe place. The breakfast buffet is bad, it has no great variety of dishes, I think it can improve.

Overall not a bad hotel in a decent location. But there were 3 big things that made me lower my review 1. The wifi only worked in 1 corner of the room or in the hallway... not on the bed. 2. There was no mini fridge in the room. 3. It took (literally 5-10 mins) to get hot water in the shower when you run it. On the plus side, very nice omelette for breakfast and fairly quite room.

Hotel is pretty new so it’s still kept up quite nicely. However I found the staff here at both the front desk and the restaurant exceptional. We stayed here on two different occasions and they were both good. Rooms have the proper windows to quiet the noise outside. Also the hotel has a shuttle to the airport BUT NOT FROM THE AIRPORT so keep this in mind. Uber is not allowed at the airport so you will need to take a taxi by pre-paying inside the airport near the rental car area. If you’re in need of staying near the airport, this is the best choice by far. Breakfast is usually included and pretty good too, not that continental crap. Enjoy! 😀

GGuest UserI stayed at RIU Guadalajara for 4 nights in August 2022. I will stay there again on my next trip. My room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and refreshed everyday by 'Helga'. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was well worth the money. I dined on the patio overlooking the city and enjoyed my morning coffee in the morning breeze. The buffet has everything you'd want for breakfast or brunch and the service is excellent. The waiters brought want you wanted without interrupting your meal. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI have been coming here at least three times a year for the past four years. And I have basically given up any hope of this hotel improving. In fact it seems to be getting worse and worse each year I will explain: First is with disability support. They have an underground garage with a very slight ramp up to elevators to take you to your room, yet the only handicap spots available are outside where you have to go up along fairly steep ramp to get into the hotel being open to the elements whether it is strong winds or pouring rains. While able bodied people are able to park underground in the garage with no issue. There are two parking spots beside the entrance I have repeatedly asked the hotel manager to kindly label those for accessible guests because it allows doors to open wide and wheelchairs to come out or for those with mobility issues but most of all people do not have to walk a long way to get into the hotel that have special needs. I’ve spoken to the manager directly three times, sitting down with him in the hotel lobby and he played he smiled and says will look into it and has done absolutely nothing. I am ashamed and disgusted in his behavior and lack of caring towards his customers, especially a repeat customer over many years that his staff have gotten to know quite well. The parking spots are quite small and you can tell downstairs to look at any pick up truck or SUV that is basically touching both lines and they have no way to open a door without banging the other car and everyone is trying to park on one side of the line to allow others some space… While the two spaces at the entrance enjoy the luxury of all the space they want and it is always taken up by able-bodied people forcing those with disabilities to find other alternatives. After 9 PM you basically cannot get any space in the underground covered garage and have to park outside if you can find a space . In this day and age when everyone is doing all they can to make their properties more inclusive and welcoming to everybody of all genders orientations and abilities… The velvet hotel is still sitting back in the 1990s and is not doing anything to improve its image or reputation as a supporter of people with different needs. They are very happy to take your money but do absolutely nothing to accommodate you. Speaking of the staff… But I first started coming a hotel offered services in three languages. When I arrived several nights ago not one person in the evening could speak English. I fully support that everybody coming to Mexico should be learning a little bit of Spanish… And I can have a basic conversation however I still need help with words and trying to get through any ideas when I was checking was very frustrating to the point of simply just walking away because I wasn’t getting anywhere. PPatrick4yaI was very disappointed with my stay. The room was small, dark and depressing. It was an interior room with the window facing the lobby and not outside. The room smelled strong of mold and paint. The toilet Handel was broken. Most of the wood flood was warped and bubbled from clearly having been flooded at some point. I asked the front desk to change to an exterior room but they said none with a king sized bed were available. It was very noisy and every sound from the hallway echoed throughout out the room. I believe the was some sports team staying there and it was hard to sleep with kids running through the hall from room to room, shouting, and slamming doors constantly! I will not stay there again and recommend other nearby hotels that cost less!

GGuest UserFirst of all, I loved the location of this hotel. It's right in the historic center and you can walk to so many lovely buildings and museums, and everything you need is right there (shops, pharmacies, restaurants). Upon checking in as a Diamond Hilton member, I was happy to find out they had upgraded me to a room with a nice, spacious balcony with a spectacular view of Guadalajara Cathedral. (See photo) The top-floor restaurant has a similar view as well. The breakfast has a nice, tasty variety. I also enjoyed drinks with a friend at the restaurant on one of the nights. The staff are great and helpful too. Elizabeth really came through for me when I needed to extend my stay a couple nights. Another girl (Anayeri, I think) provided excellent service as well, helping me get my dry cleaning turned in, despite missing the 10am deadline. All in all, it was a lovely stay, and I look forward to staying at this hotel when I return in the future.

GGuest UserLocation is very good. Also the staff was nice. There is a beautiful garden that is good to chill. The place is dirty. Not enough bathroom for the quantity of beds. For me, it seems that no one care about the hostel, maybe too many people with few resposabilities. Also the staff made a lot of noise on the bedroom (the ones who are living there), like they were at their own houses. There is no ”travel people mood”, it seems a place with no owner. I would never come back.

Ppulcino3This pretentious hotel is all show, no go. Only in an alternate reality can this be a 4-star hotel! Yes, the facade is impressive, and the lobby with the working elevator are nice. But once you get to your double room, you realize it's a dark, and musty, cave-like space with no fresh air because the only window faces an inner courtyard that is covered. There is mold on the stucco ceiling (see the dark spots in the attached photo, sorry for the resolution). The bathroom is so cramped you cannot use the toilet with the way the garbage bin was placed by the careless cleaning staff (see attached photos). Speaking of the cleaning staff, I found a long, dark hair on the bed sheets (photo attached), definitely the wrong length and color to be mine. The worst issue I encountered beside the fact I felt like I was suffocating from the lack of fresh air, was that the shower wouldn't drain properly, and you'd end up standing in filthy water. There was very little toilet paper provided (less than half roll) and by the time I was out, it was too late and inconvenient to go down at reception and ask for more. While I was there, there were hardly any other guests in the hotel, so it was relatively quiet, but every small noise is amplified by the architectural design of having an inner courtyard covered (in Morocco, the same architecture has the inner courtyard uncovered, so the air and noise are not trapped). You could also hear the church bells, and traffic noises. The A/C works, but it's limited by central WiFi controls, and I froze during the January night I was there, with no blanket other than a polyesther bed spread. After only one night, I couldn't wait to get out of there! There is a central hostel that literally offers better amenities than this so-called 4-stars hotel (you can look for my reviews to find out which one). The best thing this hotel offers is luggage storage: it's safe, and they give you a ticket, so it's more secure. The staff was nice enough, especially Gloria at the reception desk, who is kind and helpful. IMPORTANT NOTE: The rating of this hotel here is skewed by the numerous 5-star reviews for the famous Cathedral ”Santiago de Compostela” in Spain, placed in the WRONG listing!

JJosh GerstlThe location is perfect, right next to all the action in the Historic center of Guadalajara! Fortunately, there isn't very much noise from the city so you can sleep very well.
This is a total Greezer Style Hostel, one needs to know this, the building is old, everything is unkept but still clean enough and comfortable enough for someone on a low budget and/or Vagabond lifestyle.
The staff of young men were very kind and warm, the internet was strong and the shower has hot water which is necessary in winter.
It wasn't so clean but it is a hostel and quite possibly it was cleaned in the morning and by nightfall, it has become a bit dirty from all the travelers so a bit of advise to the hostel: if you are busy, please clean once in the morning and once in the evening, this would greatly improve our bathroom experience!
I would definitely stay here again, once a Greezer, always a Greezer and we Greeze on!

MMarant DenebMaybe I had to do more research on my side, but the room I was assigned did not look at all like the picture. The staff was kind and helpful. On the other hand, the amenities were in bad shape and dirty. The room had no air ventilation and the wall were really thin. I could hear all the noises from the other rooms and the halls, because I was near the common toilets and showers. Probably this is a better choice for people who want to party all night and just sleep a few hours. I think the location is great, but next time I will spend a little bit more for a proper hotel room with a private bathroom.

GGuest UserThis hotel is centrally located in the historic district and very picturesque, however, I had difficulty locating the person who handles payments for reservations. Tried many times before my arrival contacting someone to ask if my deposit had been received. No one answered the phone or my emails. At check out time I was told they had no record of my deposit payment. I used Wire to make international payment and fortunately had a copy of my receipt. The hotel does not have a SWIFT international transfer wire account. My girlfriend lost one pair of pants she left when we went out for the day. We complained to management and they said they would look into it.

WWin BkkThe location is very close to the old bus terminal Central Vieja where airport buses stop. It is right in the city centre.
The check in was smooth, but the reception took quite some time to find my booking.
The room was quite good and very clean. Hot water and wifi worked well. The facade of the hotel isn't appealing, but what is inside is quite good.
