Sandbaai Country House

We had a very nice stay at the Sandbaai Country House. The people looking after us treated us as friends and we had good laughs. The location is stunning with superb views of the ocean.

As travellers with a love for exploration, we decided to see if we could pop over for a drink and were met with the genuine warmth of South African hospitality, despite having nothing to gain from us. The moment we walked in, we felt right at home. What was meant to be a quick visit turned into one of those delightful, impromptu evenings, where we socialised with the owners and fellow guests. I can’t speak for the rooms or anything else, as we haven’t stayed here yet, but I’m eager to see how this place continues to evolve. Under new management, they are constantly making thoughtful upgrades while preserving the timeless charm of this historic beauty. With views that stretch across the sea, this special place is one we’ll definitely visit soon! Talita and Steve

From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. What was intended as a brief visit turned into a delightful, impromptu evening of socialising with the owners and fellow guests. The establishment is under new management, with improvements already underway, yet still maintaining its old-world charm. This grand dame, with her spectacular views stretching across the sea, is a true gem. I’m eager to see how this space will continue to evolve—we’ll definitely be visiting again soon to experience more of the hospitality and soak up some glorious sunsets.

We stayed at the hotel in May 2024 for 4 days. On the day we arrived we were greeted by owner Adrian very friendly. We felt genuinely welcomed. The hotel is located at the ocean coast and a view from the hotel over the ocean is truly beautiful. There is a cozy living room where you can sit and watch the ocean. On the third morning a small miracle happened to us. The host graciously offered to change our ordinary room, which we also liked, to a larger room with an ocean view, completely free of charge. We were very happy about that. The next 2 nights we could hear the waves crashing through our sleep. We will remember that with warmth for a long time to come. The staff was friendly and accomodated us in everything. The breakfasts were delicious. I would like to note the perfect cleanliness of bed linen and towels. It was very pleasant. There is a three-kilometer path along the coast near the hotel. We've walked this path many times in the mornings and evenings, making another (already five hundredth probably), video of “the most beautiful wave”. Not far away there is a large mall where you can buy everything you need on vacation. We would love to come back and spend more time at this hotel.
