Listen , I’ve read thru all the reviews and quite frankly , some of the low scoring ones aren’t really fair . I’ve been coming to GC for about a decade now . I’m titanium with Marriott / Ritz ., stayed both places more than once I’ve stayed at Kimpton, Westin, the condos at Caribbean Club ..etc . All of those places have had room issues at more than double the cost to stay , Ritz quadruple the cost per night. Staff issues run the gamut , as I could give you instances in all of those aforementioned places, with staff so out of touch and out of line , they should have been fired on the spot . The beach on 7 mile has very few spots to date , that are glistening and inviting like in the day . Recent storms and erosion have altered it in many stretches , so it’s not exactly stellar . The GC and HI are what they are . They don’t advertise as high end nor do they compete for that market segment . The rooms and 2 bedroom villas in both places are adequate, and the staff , minus a rogue employee , work with the amenities and property at large . 3 star properties , give you just that , occasionally above that in service and view . I chose to stay at both because I don’t care about jumping in the ocean or the need for Ferragamo toiletries , down pillows and Frette bedding . That’s not why I select these properties . I’m fortunate to be able to include nice things in my daily life so coming to GC is about the chill , vibe and the people I’ve come to know . There is a simple shuttle to get you onto the beach , plenty of beautiful views and the bar and restaurant are fun and equal to a good Neighborhood hang out . If your soending un

First, I'm not overly picky or only leave bad reviews. Actually I normally leave great reviews as I worked for AAA for 5 years and completely understand the importance of reviews for the business as well as new potential guests. I will try to be as specific as possible. I wish I could leave a negative star review. However, the ONLY Shining star to this entire 9 day trip was the staff at Sunshine Grill. Lets start out with the ALL STARS. I'm terrible with names .. therefore I'll use countries. Oscar from Spain, lady from Scotland and lady from Cayman( her daughter is Miss Cayman Island) they were beyond fantastic and a pleasure to see daily. Unfortunately, thats the only nice thing I have to say about this deplorable hotel. As you can see in their trip advisor ratings, they have more 1 star reviews than anything else. The rooms are filty. Old furniture, musty smell, bathroom door wouldn't shut, broken cabinets etc.etc. They never cleaned the room our entire trip. I had to ask daily. Then once they confirmed the room had been cleaned, we found all they had done was empty the trash, make the bed and throw some towels on the commode. Every day i had to rewash my feet (after my shower) because the floor had not been cleaned. It was beyond GROTESQUE!! The front desk staff was rude whenever approached about stepping up their housekeeping. Rude when asked to refill the coffee, shampoo, soap, towels.. basically everything. FYI, they never filled any of our request unless we stood at the front desk to gather what we needed. The pool is PUBLIC thats right, they allow just anyone to use it. This created a huge impediment to the guests that had actually paid to stay there. Imagine screaming children with no manners or mute button for 5 straight hours right next to you. Ugh !! The pool is the size of a private pool most people have in thier backyard. To give you a better mental picture, they had only 8 lounge chairs. Thank goodness when you book at this ran sacked hotel you were allowed to walk next door and use the beautiful pool at the Westin. You are able to drink, eat, get massages ALL AT THE WESTIN and bill to your room at Sunshine Suites. Needless to say its incredibly more expensive. However we didn't mind. Our bar tab with lunch was usually around $400 to $500 a day with a family of 4( we all had lunch and 3 drinks a piece) Believe me when I say IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY to get away from the Sunshine Suites. We paid $500 a night for 1 room and we purchased two tooms for 8 nights. Thats alot of $$ for a 1 star hotel. Next time we will just stay at the Westin or Mariott. Lesson Learned for staying at a no name hotel. Yuck Yuck Yuck. Seek elsewhere for your accommodations. You will be sad and sorry if you stay here. I'm a very positive person, so leaving this review is out of my wheel house. Needless to say, if it keeps 1 couple, family or business person from throwing their hard earned mobey away by staying here.. IT'S DONE IT'S JOB EFFECTIVELY !!

Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman

This is our third stay at this property and we will return. We love the seclusion of this property which is on the north sound. The room was clean and maintenance responded when we called. I do have a few comments: The hallways need to be renovated with brighter lighting and new carpeting or new tile and the rooms need to be exterminated on a regular basis. Being near the water I expect to see some insects. We had several small clear or tan spiders. We were able to control most of them with insect spray. We are hopeful that the dock will be rebuilt and operational before we return. Lastly the hot water pressure in one of the sinks was poor, I shared the other sink with my husband when I needed hot water. We especially were pleased that we were able to take our covid-19 tests to return to the US at the hotel. This was very convenient. The Driftwood restaurant on the property had excellent food which kept us from leaving the property to eat daily. This property is beautiful, relaxing and kept clean.

If I could rate this property higher than excellent I would ! When I pick a hotel I do an extreme amount of research and saw the locale had great reviews and now I see why. This hotel was amazing ! Before I even got there Chantelle was sooo helpful via email. Any questions I had she was there to answer. Once I arrived the room was big, clean and new. The complementary breakfast was delicious. The best part was the staff!!! They treated us so well as if they had known us forever. It was my friends birthday weekend and they made her feel so special. Every time something exciting happened on our trip we always ran back to them to tell them the story as they felt like friends. I want to say a massive thank you to the desk staff cher, Tyler, Aaron, Che, Paul and Natalie in housekeeping. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR TRIP AMAZING ! Grand cayman was beautiful and the hotel was fantastic. Everyone should stay here!! I will 100% be back!

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

It is the best hotel in Grand Cayman and also the most expensive. The hotel is located on the Seven Mile Beach, and I can go to the beach directly from my room. Mobile phones can still receive signals on the beach. The hotel does not offer free breakfast. Singers sing in the lobby in the evening. The hotel is very beautiful.
