They charge for tap water. This is a terrible policy and I’m sorry I can’t get past it. You can shower as long as you like. You have a lovely glass caraffe in your room and you can drink water to your heart’s content in your room. At breakfast the water is plentiful. But at dinner - you pay. Why don’t you charge 1 franc more for your cordon bleu instead? Or don’t give free bread? Or charge 1 chf more for the room. I don’t care. But to charge for tap water - this is a big insult to your customers. I have been to your hotel many times before and I have recommended it to many friends. But I’m sorry this is the end. You even went to the trouble to write a big spiel in your menu about why you charge for water. I paid you over 200 francs for my meal and my room. I just honestly can’t understand your logic. Kudos to the nice restaurant staff who tried to appease the situation. Your service was excellent and friendly. This review is intended solely for the management of this hotel and restaurant.

The Hotel Joopi is located in the middle of the old part of Reckingen. Great, because it's all unusual for me as a holidaymaker - these ancient log cabins...
The restaurant kitchen in the hotel was great for us. The food and service were really good.
The waiters could say "please/thank you" sometimes, but that's fine. :-)
The house is charming but imaginatively furnished. It's definitely even cozier in winter.

Small, cute and friendly hotel. Typical for a tourist stay. I received a very clean single room. Unfortunately above the kitchen and the smell of fried food came in through the window... but after 2200 it was all over. The staff very friendly and pleasant.

We wanted to play minigolf in Reckingen last weekend. Since the equipment had to be picked up from a hotel, we made our way to the Hotel Joopi. The hotel was open and there were guests in the dining room. We waited at the bar. Instead of serving us, we were looked at for a few minutes from the regulars' table and then completely ignored. I felt completely stupid - everyone was sitting at the regulars' table but no one had made an effort to serve the new guests. In the end, we left the Joopi without any minigolf equipment and found a very accommodating hotel in the same village with extremely friendly staff who were able to help us straight away. After this unwelcoming visit, we will never set foot in this hotel again. It's a shame that you scare away new guests like that...
