We have just spent two nights at the wonderful Greyhound cottage the character and charm of this unique building surpassed all of our expectations. As we drove into this amazing property we had our name on a sign directing us to our private parking space in the beautiful grounds we were greeted by Kay and Doug two of the nicest people you could wish to meet before entering into our own wing of this majestic thatched cottage I can only describe this incredible space as fit for a King with its own luxury bathroom and the most tasteful sitting room adorned with exquisite furniture leading to what can only be described as the most beautiful bedroom I’ve ever seen an enormous four poster bed in a vaulted chapel with a staircase to a mezzanine sitting area / library with period chairs just breathtaking. The gardens are manicured to perfecting in this truly tranquil haven. Breakfast was in the main house and again the cottage was breathtaking sitting in a bay window overlooking the grounds was an experience in itself the full English breakfast was as good as it gets and the hosts were so accommodating we just didn’t want to leave. 10 out of 10 for this cottage and we are already planning a return visit.

Greyhound Cottage is a fabulous place to stay. The suite was spacious and very comfortable, with all the things you need to make yourself at home. The breakfasts were superb and the owners could not have been kinder or more helpful. Highly recommended.

We usually try to stay in nice pubs or restaurants with rooms, but on this occasion we hit the bulls-eye and found Greyhound Cottage that used to be a pub. The house is beautifully kept as is the garden by Kay and Doug Mitchell. Our room was spacious and well presented with all the usual requirements with a large modern bathroom that had both bath and shower. We had an excellent breakfast freshly cooked, juices, fruit, cereals and toast together with an array of condiments. Kay & Doug are very welcoming hosts only too willing to advise on nearby places to visit. If I could give it 6, i would.

A fabulous place to stay.On our arrival on our honeymoon Val and Doug welcomed us with a personal welcome notice, thankyou. The room was like a self contained annex.Included a fantastic 4 poster, plus sitting room, small library, large TV dining table, tea and coffee and a fridge. The garden was gorgeous. The information pack Doug supplied, coverd every local village in the area, where to eat, points of intrest, just a magic touch. Will definately go back soon.

On arrival our car parking space was clearly sign posted. Only two rooms are rented out, we were in the suite, which was a converted barn, it’s large and spacious. The double bed is huge. Appreciate the whole building is extremely old, it has lots of character, and not many straight edges, with the occasional friendly spider. My wife did come across a large spider, the hosts were brilliant in getting it removed quickly. It’s clean and tidy, our suite had a lounge area, a bed area and a mezzanine level with a small library. The bathroom was functional and clean. Breakfast…. FANTASTIC ! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful to.

We have had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous cottage and were made to feel very welcome by the owners Doug and Kay, an extremely lovely couple who couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious and very plentiful. We would highly recommend that you choose to stay here. We would also recommend as a good eatery the Angel pub which is a few minutes walk where they do great food and the staff and locals are lovely.

What a fantastic place to stay! We were greeted by the hosts by our labelled parking and shown to our room. Such character and charm! A beautifully appointed room with everything we needed. Kay and Doug have thought of everything; from the binoculars for birdwatching to a handy umbrella for rainy days. The breakfast would put a five star hotel to shame and again, everything was considered. We are already planning our return visit and I would recommend staying here to everyone
