I choose to stay at Marine Troon as it was the best hotel in the area. I had a little problem when I first arrived which was sorted out by Joan on Reception to my complete satisfaction. The Sea View room was large, clean and comfortable. It contained all I needed for my stay. Kettle/Coffee Machine/Iron etc., Lyn and Joan on Reception were very helpful when I had any queries. The breakfast was beautifully cooked using good quality ingredients and served timely and piping hot. Dinner in both The Seal and The Rabbit were fabulous. For golfers the location is amazing. The spa area is great and the very warm pool and jacuzzi was a great way to relax. The only issue I had - which was not the hotels fault - is that it is under the flight path to Prestwick Airport. There was often an extremely loud plane that went overhead at around 2am which would wake me up and take me ages to get back to sleep. Having said that, I would stay there again. Thank you to all staff who made my stay special.
With seafront views looking out towards the beautiful Isle of Arran, few hotels offer the same level of serenity that the Mercure Ayr Hotel provides. Ideally located in the heart of the historic seaside town, this 3-star hotel is perfect for weekend breaks, shopping days and self-contemplation thanks to the on-site Feel Good Health Club. A haven for sports fans, Ayr is within a 20-mile radius of 22 dedicated golf clubs and home to the prestigious horse racing Gold Cup.

The hotel environment is very good, is a very large hotel, not far from the sea. There is a large golf course next to the hotel. The daily breakfast is a la carte, which is rich and overall, very satisfied! The disadvantage is that there are no slippers and the bed is relatively small

The flight was late, and the flight on the first day arrived in the early morning of the next day. Fortunately, I was able to have a good sleep, and the breakfast was good! The staff was also very friendly. Overall, I recommend it. It may take more than 10 minutes to walk from the airport. If you are not familiar with the route, it will feel far to take a detour. Because I arrived late, the hotel is nothing to say, nice

We were surprised to be given a free upgrade on arrival which was a great start to our holiday. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Amazing water pressure in the shower - it felt like I was under a waterfall! :) We decided to have our dinner at the hotel which was lovely. Check-out the next morning was super quick and with just a short walk across the road to the airport you could not get a better location.

We booked this as we knew our flight home to Glasgow Airport was landing late and we could not face the long drive home at such a time. By the time we cleared with our bags and walked to the hotel from the terminal it was 2am when we checked in. Unfortunately we were given room 115, which was opposite the elevators on the first floor. It was also not only an accessible room with wet bathroom (no shower unless you wanted to flood the whole room) but also had a ”connecting” door to the next room. No idea who was on the either side, but not ideal for either of us given our late arrival. I was feeling extremely tired and and went straight to my bed - unfortunately it was far too soft and it was a double, so we tended to fall into the middle where the ”hole” or ”dip” in the mattress was. With us both trying to sleep on the outside of the mattress for comfort we continually pulled the small duvet from each other in an attempt to keep warm after our return from Africa. The pillows were also too soft for my liking, however that was minor compared to the mattress. There hours later, at around 5am the corridor started coming alive with excited children heading off on their holidays, running and squealing, literally!! I can't blame them for being enthusiastic, but perhaps their parents might have understood that some guests might still wish to sleep at that time? Thus our morning continued so when we finally dragged ourselves up for breakfast around 9am I was extremely tired and somewhat grumpy... Now to breakfast; a fairly good selection was on offer if you came at a quiet time. I saw some guests leave towards the end our meal time as they did not want to wait in the queue for what was left. My main gripe about the breakfast was again, not the hotel's fault, but the guests, who presumably are not used to staying in hotels and don't know what swerving utensils are for. I saw one female guest pick up and touch several slices of bread and returning them before picking what she put in the toaster machine. I purposely picked a slice she hadn't pawed and waited whilst it went through the machine, then just as it arrived a young man (her son I believe) whisked it away in front of me. Manners non existent. The breakfast staff were helpful and friendly and the food on offer was perfectly adequate if all the guests knew how to behave. All in all, we picked this hotel for a catch up sleep after a late flight in and we didn't achieve that so we will not be back.

Hotel seemed a bit tired and in need of some tlc, staff all friendly when spoken to and bar staff helpful. Bar area seemed a bit cramped and awkward. Our room was supposed to be executive but felt pretty cramped. Have stayed elsewhere for less and had more space. The bathroom had nowhere to put toiletries in or out of the shower and the toilet in a very enclosed space between the wall and the glass shower door. Actually banged my shoulder on the toilet roll holder! Room was clean but bed was rock hard and neither of us managed to get much sleep due to having to keep moving off the numb joint so often. The room was on the second floor and absolutely roasting so had to keep the fan on all night which was really noisy as well. Breakfast was plentiful and set out well but a bit tasteless. Overall disappointing stay for our anniversary.

Outstanding
GGuest UserI've stayed here a couple of times. On the edge of Glasgow centre but an easy 10 minute walk. Really nice touches of design in the communal areas and in the bedrooms. I got upgraded to a suite which was very nice. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the same restaurant. Only negative was that the dinner service was sometimes a little slow.
GGuest UserLocated in the city center and convenient for travel.
The price is very reasonable, breakfast included, booked for seven nights.
The room is not spacious, but it is clean and comfortable, but the bed is too soft, which is a bit uncomfortable.
I went to try breakfast the next morning. Although the restaurant was not big, the breakfast was rich in content, well organized and tasted good. The waiter took the initiative to clear the table.
GGuest UserOur recent stay at Moxy Glasgow SEC was comfortable, quiet and enjoyable. The availability of heavily subsidised parking next to the hotel (which must be validated by asking at reception) was an added bonus - only £8/day! The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, with friendly staff at reception. Accessed with a key-card, our room, although compact and overlooking the aforementioned car park, was modern, clean and provided good amenities. The view from the room didn't detract from our stay, as with the curtains drawn and window closed, any car park light/noise could be avoided - this was necessary the nights events were on at the SEC. Our room was a 'moxy twin sleeper' (two single beds) - though the beds were really close together. Additionally, there wasn't really any storage space, and the use of paper cups instead of the use of mugs could have elevated the room. Despite this, the room was well-decorated and met our needs during a four-night stay. Overall, the Moxy Glasgow SEC was well-priced, and the modern, clean rooms helped us to have a pleasant and comfortable stay!
HHannaIs good hotel but just one thing the sons and steam room not working and they not mentioned in website because I booked for sona and steam room but is under repair That’s why am not happy but the hotel and service and staff very nice
GGuest UserGreat location, lovely clean rooms, excellent bar facilities, free pool table and the staff are some of the best in Glasgow. It honestly has the best vibe, breakfast room and bar has everything you could possibly need. It’s our second stay and We will definitely return
GGuest UserLocation is good. 5-10min to train and bus station, near restaurants n shopping area. Cleanliness just ok. No kettle, no amenities in room. Will only provide house keeping if stay over 3 days.
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.

GGuest UserMy wife and I planned a night out in Glasgow for our friends 40th birthday and booked this hotel for the night. I must say this hotel wasn't what I was expecting the front of house staff were really friendly and professional however that manager needs to learn she is in her position because of the customers and she should learn to speak to the customer in a more professional manner. In the space of 10 minutes while we were checking in we both saw her being disrespectful to 4 different customers. THE BAR and RESTAURANT The choice of drinks were ok however there was no draft beer available. They also had cocktails in the fridge however the barman refused to sell any to us due to the management not allowing him to do so. We paid for morning breakfast and they had a choice of continental or hot breakfast. The breakfast was the best part of the stay. THE ROOM The room was very simple. It had a small TV with standard free channels. The issue I had with the room was the staff only put 1 towel in the bathroom. If there are 2 people staying it should be policy that you get 2 towels. I cannot recommend this hotel until these issues are fixed and I will not be returning.
The heater did not work. First excuse was it is on an automatic timer set for 8pm. First night - ice box. They gave me an extra blanket. Also the carpet was musty/dusty and had a funky mildewy type smell. It affected my sinuses which led to a sinus infection and hospital visit to check my lungs. Next day, after telling them by note (as reception wasn't open and their phone number didn't answer) I came home late (past 8pm) to the same ice box. On attempting to contact reception by phone, buzzer and banging on door to no response. Went back to room and a gentleman came out of a nearby room (the same one with a continuously crying baby). On advising him the heater was not working and asking for him to turn it on (thinking I wasn't doing it right) he said oh, maintenance hasn't been able to get to that for ## days. He offered me another blanket. The ice box was horrible that night and I advised it needs to be fixed tomorrow. He said it wouldn't be, so I advised I cannot stay as heating is a major issue and a health hazard. I advised this all to the booking company and they advised his response was 'no refund due to policy'. It is heating - mandatory in Scotland if not anywhere else.
