Kerculla Resort

An unexpected world class gem of a hotel in this beautiful part of Albania. Located on the top of a steep hill with sensational views over the town, the old castle and the mountain range. Magnificent. The hotel is currently in two buildings close together. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished with stone floors & timber ceiling. Some have balconies. There is a comfortable queen size bed. The bathroom is also a good size with a shower. There did not seem to be any English TV channels available. But it was a big size smart TV which had YouTube, Spotify & other apps available. The hotel wifi was amazingly fast enabling streaming on own devices. There is a beautiful outdoor pool and spa & veranda with sun lounged. The dining room overlooks the valley and the mountains. There is also a nice bar area. Breakfast was included served at the table which was extensive & delicious. The hotel staff do everything they can to give good service & are very helpful & friendly. Great place to stay although a tough walk to the old town due to the steep hills. Suggest you need transport to get down to the old town and back. Would stay here again in a heartbeat & for more than one night.

For a holiday, a short trip, a meal or just a coffee - Kerculla is the absolute recommendation for Gjirokaster. Best hotel in town! The location and the view are unique. Anyone who comes to Gjirokaster must have seen this. The hotel lovingly combines the historical elements of the typical architectural style of Gjirokaster with a modern ambience. The food is first class. The pool with jacuzzi and infinity pool is currently being completed and is unique. If you want to stay in a beautiful hotel high above Gjirokaster and be pampered, you have to come here.

This is a great hotel with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and the Gjirokaster castle. The restaurant is also good with fresh food served everyday. The customer service was also good and the staff were quite attentive to requests. The only downside is the steep hike up from the bazaar/old town. However, the views and atmosphere at the resort are well worth the climb. There are also several taxis in the old town area that can drive you up to the resort.

Our favourite place we stayed in Albania! Pictures can't do the view from the hotel justice, but having dinner out on the terrace looking over Gjirokaster at sunset was out of this world. The food was amazing (both dinner and the incredible breakfast spread), all of the staff were so friendly and the rooms are a great size, clean and comfortable. A must stay in Albania!

You should come to Albania just to stay at this hotel. Seriously magical place. The view and rooms were amazing. The staff was spectacular. It's a bummer to get up that hill so let someone else drive it but once you get to the top it will all be worth it. The towel warmer in the bath area was a nice perk. Spend the money (this place is far too low priced for what you get) and get the room with a view. The bfast was lovely. We were there too early and they still went over the top. The main restaurant for dinner was alright. I'd rather go to the old town. Service was amazing however. Cannot recommend enough for this area

This was one of the best hotel experiences I have had on Albania. There are signs throughout the town to help guide you to the resort up the mountain. They also sent out a text message with further instructions for how to get there. There is a pool and restaurant with amazing views of the castle and the town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor/theme of the hotel is a castle. The rooms are heavy on wood carvings and older decor , yet they are still new and modern feeling. They are also very clean. The staff was accommodating with extra towels and blankets when asked. There isn’t an elevator so if you need help with suitcases you should book the first floor.

This is a really excellent hotel. The location and views overlooking the lovely town of Gjirokaster are amazing. The pool and restaurants offer brilliant views of the mountains, valley, town and castle. Breakfast is sumptuous and the dinner we had was also very good. Rooms are large, comfortable and have terraces with lovely views. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

I stayed here with my husband and my two sons. We were visiting my husbands family who live in Gjirokastër. The views from the hotel are amazing and the breakfast was massive with plenty to choose from. The boys enjoyed playing in the pool which never seemed busy. You are supplied with clean beach towels to have around the pool. The waiters work very hard, are very friendly and can not do enough for you. I read a review someone saying that the staff children were mean to other children but I must say they were nothing be kind and friendly to our boys and even offered to have them playing a game with them. All the staff were very accommodating. We enjoyed the food for lunch and dinner and the menu had plenty of options to choose from. The air con was amazing and the room was always nice and cool, also the window shutters were god send as you could nap when ever you likes without the daylight impacting on the darkness of the room The hotel has a well equipped gym which I used most days, had everything you needed for a decent workout. The rooms are cleaned as and when you request it and of a very high standard. Me and my family have made some amazing memories here and we look forward to coming back very soon.

Oh my, where should we start! We were there for 3 days and didn't want to leave. The view was out of this world and the staff members were super friendly and helpful! The only thing that they can do a better job at is the breakfast offering. Klaudio, the waiter, was very professional and always went the extra mile!
