It would be better if they have queen bed rather than two single beds. The room was ok.

The location is very good, right in the city center, opposite the town hall. The hotel facilities are relatively new, and the area is larger than what I booked in Paris, about 10 square meters. There are two USB charging ports, unlike other European hotels that have round sockets. The sound insulation is not very good, which may be a common problem in European hotels. The elevator needs to be opened and closed manually, and the door can only be opened after the bell rings. I didn't know how to operate it for the first time and was blocked in. The front desk is usually not there, and you need to press the bell to come out. The service is good. The service of European hotels is good.

The landlord is friendly and enthusiastic, the room is very old, and the elevator still has manual door opening and closing. But the interior has been renovated and is very new and spacious. The layout of the apartment is a bit special, and the toilet has no door. The location is good. Downstairs is the cathedral and the Christmas market. However, because the cathedral always rings the bell, the noise is a bit loud if the windows are not closed.

Unfortunately, the location was the only good thing about this hotel. We arrived and were surprised to find out there was no heat and no hot water. They should have communicated this as it had been out for days and we would have never opted to stay there in winter when the temps were in the high 20’s degrees! There are plenty of decent hotels to stay at…….dont waste your time!

The hotel was very well kept and updated for the price. A few of the front desk staff were very kind and helpful and a few just didn’t want to be there. For the price, this was amazing though. It’s an excellent location, close to everything. My only issues were that there was no outlet in the room so I couldn’t charge any of my devices (there was only a USB charge but I don’t have any decided without a USBC so I had no way to charge my devices. The shower also only had cold water. Besides that, the bed was very comfortable and the price was unbeatable for such a great location.

The location of the hotel was great. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The city was very walkable with great restaurants around. If ever back in Ghent, we'd definitely stay here again.

Overall, it was not a pleasant stay and would not be back. When we first walked into our room, it smelled absolutely horrible. One look inside the toilet and it was clear why. I had to ask the maid working on the next room to come and clean the toilet. We stayed there for 2 nights and there was no hot water for the first day and a half. The only redeemable aspect was the location, which was excellent. If those two very big mishaps had not happened, it would have been an okay stay.
