The staff were friendly and professional. We had a situation where there was a shortage of water in the rooms, and it was explained to us that due to construction activities they have been experiencing this. they managed to help us get hot water for bathing. they attended to our request well in time.

I cannot speak highly enough of Maureen, the assistant manager of Kalahari Arms Hotel. When myself and my family had a car accident and were in need of a safe and comfortable night in Ghanzi, she was incredible! Maureen was friendly and compassionate, ensuring that she met our every need. Her response was amazing and she swiftly made us feel welcome - going above and beyond to help us out. Maureen is both professional and compassionate and her big heart and pro-active support made a massive difference to us that night. THANK YOU - for everything. The Hotel is a beautiful welcome oasis. Our teenage boys enjoyed the fantastic breakfast served there! We hope to visit again one day.

In a nutshell, you are exceptional. Besides a few descripencies at your old rooms the service was good, I suggest a few of your workers at the kitchen will need a refresher course for customer service in the near future because some doesn't look very patient with customer request

Upon arrival we were told that the hotel could not honor our two night booking and were surprised that our travel arranger had not told us. It’s not clear to me who was at fault but it wasn’t a nice introduction to the hotel. It ended up working in our favor as we spent the second night at a place we liked far better (Symponia, see my review). The rooms are an interesting mix of rondavels (which are the original rooms and didn’t seem to be occupied), more traditional hotel rooms, and “duplex” bungalows. I was in 608. The room was a reasonable size and relatively comfortable. There was a fridge and the Internet worked reasonably well. The AC was pretty weak and might not have done a very good job of cooling the room if it had been hotter out. The mattress was really hard as were the pillows. There is a sizeable pool which didn’t look super clean but it was still a nice place to sit and relax. The restaurant has an extensive menu and the pizza was surprisingly good if a little heavy on the cheddar. The wait staff were efficient and gave my colleague a free scoop of ice cream after they realized that they didn’t have any buns left for her burger. My other colleague wasn’t impressed with her beef dish as it was dry and salty. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, particularly the omelette I had made. The hotel is centrally located but we’ll be staying at the Symponia in the future. Did I mention that it (Symponia) is also cheaper?

A really lovely hotel with great food, service and staff. However they have a serious cat problem. There is a whole colony of unsterilzed cats running all over the place. There was a big ginger Tom that kept fighting with all of the other cats all night hence no sleep. One of the poor cats even fell off the roof. The hotel honestly needs to work with Maws and get the cats sterilized

The Kalahari Arms has had quite a makeover since the last time I stayed here. The staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms (we rented 2) were excellent -- large queen bed, two chairs and a table inside, a table and 4 chairs on the veranda, an excellent work space, large flat screen TV with a decent (but not great) DSTV bouquet, shower and all bathroom fixtures are brand new including a motion sensor light which can startle you at first if you stand still for a moment! The grounds are immaculate, the pool is clean and big, and the restaurant has indoor and patio (under a high thatch roof) seating. The food was excellent too. The one drawback was a dodgy wi-fi system and given how the covid era makes us all work online, I hope they'll upgrade that system soon.

The chalet with a pool view did not have a pool view unless you opened the door to the outside and looked past the chalets in front of it. Unfortunately, this was not addressed at all. The restaurant is quite loud when there are a few guests there. However, everything is certainly of a good standard for Botswana
