We came early and they check us in straight away. The room was big and spacious. Very near to eateries too. I would love to stay here again when i’m back in Penang

It is probably my 3rd or 4th time staying with Courtyard and the hotel’s service and amenities just kept getting worser.
Shortened my stay during my last trip due to tv issue which wasn’t rectified after a day and the receptionist lied to us saying that the whole penang’s tv is down but we called another hotel to check on that and it is apparently just courtyard’s having issue. No apology nothing.
This stay, for a 3 night stay, we changed our room twice with our last room being #1905. There is this sewage smell just lingering around and could not be rectified by the engineering team for #1621. It comes every now and then and it is really dampening our stay. Even after the supposedly checks by the team as assured by the duty manager on the phone before shifting to #1905, the toilet seat was not fixed properly. Sewage smell is back next morning. But we were just too lazy to shift any more rooms nor waste our time with it.
We love the location and the food at the restaurant but the hotel is a hit or miss now. Really disappointing..

Overall, the hotel is good with a convenient location and friendly receptionists. However, the toilet floor is excessively slippery, due to leftover shampoo residue that remained uncleaned. Only one towel was initially provided, so I have to request from housekeeping for additional towels.

Overall it’s a comfortable stay. But it’s a little disappointing that being a Mariott hotel, the service is slow. And the sound isolation quality is not up to par, you can hear people walking outside the room and even from the parade outside the hotel
