Club Mahindra Cherai Beach

A calm and serene property located at the outskirts of the city. The place is good for a family vacation with 3 types of rooms, a swimming pool, restaurant and kids activity centre. The staffs are warming. The rooms are spacious with wardrobes and fridge. Provided with tea and coffee sachets. The bed is comfortable. The hotel unit bathroom was more spacious than the room. The swimming pool villa is huge and the view is to the backwaters which is cool. Overall a great place for a family vacation. Property - frontside Beach Backside - Backwaters.

Mr. Jerin was there to help us at the time of check-in The service from Arjun, Praveen, Lijo, Sateesh, Deepu Mohan and Jimmy at the Restaurant was very good helpful. Special mention to these people. This is the 4th visit to this property ………..

We had an awesome 3 days stay at Club Mahindra Cherai. Its very close to beach. We opted water villa 1 BR room. It was very spacious and easily accomodated 3 adults and 3 kids. A separate pool was there in our room. We all enjoyed spending time in beach and pool as well. The rooms n pool are well maintained and the team had good house keeping sorting our needs then n there. Happy hub had a good number of games. Overall we enjoyed 3 days with full of activitied keeping us engaged. We had only one breakfast here, that was very delicious with Kerala delicacies.. aapam, kappa, etc. Special mention to the Chief Chef who was very open to tell us the recipe wen asked. The buffet spread was excellent and very tasty.. our kids enjoyed. Checking out with a relaxed mind and after a worth holiday. Thanks Club Mahindra team.

After many years of travelling found the perfect international experience in India in Club Mahindra Cherai, the resort is kept clean and tidy. We really like all the features of the resort like the outdoor and indoor activities. Best destination for food lovers, had exotic cusine, and above all the attitude of Mr Praveen’s team is praise worthy Mr Arjun who served as made as feel very good, The buffet had many varieties and food options. The overall experience was absolutely wonderful! Looking forward to visit again

At the outset, I need to give the disclaimer that I am writing this review as a non-member, because Club Mahindra seems to apply different standards for its members vis-a-vis passers by who just walk-in unauthorised [that’s how we precisely felt]. The nice things - great location offering views of the backwaters and access to the beach [although the beach is rocky and separated by a wall] and well maintained grounds that allow you some activities. And that’s where it ends. The rooms are poorly planned and maintained. The lighting inside the rooms was poor. Lights in the corridor were unserviceable and took more than one call for repair. The fan in one of the rooms ran only on the highest speed. The pillows were stained, the window curtains had plastic rings, some of which were falling off and the bathroom curtains were stained black. Despite knowing that we were 3+2 people staying with an extra bed in one room, additional linen was not provided till requested. There were no slippers available to be used in the room and on requesting, we were refused. Often, we were reminded that we were not members, so we could not get a particular thing, even on payment. The food was passable. The buffet breakfast was standard fare with lumpy sambhar and variable salt in various dishes. We ordered room service on the first night and the hotel staff called us many times, insisting that we pay for room service IN CASH before midnight. We refused to pay in cash but no one came to the room with the card machine that night. We escalated the incident to the resort manager and I hope he has taken some corrective action. Room service food was expensive [Rs. 150 a chapati] but served in small quantities in cheap cardboard boxes [although the crockery was ceramic and cutlery steel]. We were told that it was the hotel policy to use such boxes - following the same logic, the crockery and cutlery should not have been ceramic/ steel too. I felt sad for the lower staff who were many a time in an awkward embarrassed situation- while acting on or communicating the weird resort rules to us. I think it’s the management and oversight by Club Mahindra that is severely lacking here - they dogged us with pamphlets to avail their spa packages but cut corners on the basic amenities and courtesies that guests expect and pay for. I would not recommend this resort to anyone - walk down the road and there are many smaller homestays that offer better service and care. As for me, never going to a Club Mahindra ever!

We stayed for 3days at Mahindra Cherai Beach Resort, we had issue with room, where toilet was choked in the morning, so changed the room 3 night stayed in 3 different room horrible experience But restaurant staff was good, we had taken 2 meal package for 3 days which we enjoyed, they served hot foods, breakfast and dinner spread was awesome, Praveen has his team welcomed and served delicious hot food which made us feel better even after having horrible time with room problems
