We were very pleasantly surprised, super friendly reception and treatment, our Navi had problems with finding the address. Thanks to the €9 ticket we have been able to design our stay in Erfurt with the public well.

I stayed at the Labyrinth Hostel for four nights and wish I could have stayed longer! I felt very much at home there and especially welcome thanks to the friendly staff. I was in an eight-bed dorm with one to two other people so enjoyed generous amounts of space. For me the bed was comfortable and I slept well with no disturbances. The common areas were great for chilling out and chatting with other guests (both outside in the yard, and inside in the kitchen and dining area). Good selection of books in the book exchange. Kitchen was fine for preparing simple meals. Location of hostel great for seeing the sights, right by the historic centre of town. You can't park directly by the hostel but there is plenty of parking just a few minutes walk away. As for Weimar, definitely a great place to visit - important historically and especially if you are interested in Goethe and Schiller! Also liked Erfurt and especially Jena - nice towns in very attractive surroundings.

Location, lovely restaurant and great staff I booked because it’s right opposite the train station ….. but this hotel is so much more. Often ‘right opposite the train station’ means you are sacrificing something in terms of appearance and slight seediness for the convenience - but not here ! It’s a lovely old hotel (with a nice history), restored several times over the years, with a particularly impressive glass-surrounded restaurant for all meals. Location - as well as being on a pretty square right in front of the train station it’s less than 10 minutes’ easy straight line walk from the museums and the historic old town. There are plenty of nicely located hotels in the centre too by the way - just not as good for train access. The hotel restaurant is a real delight. Go for the breakfast buffet with some of the best prepared hotel bacon I have ever come across - crispy, fat-free and warm - plus all the usual egg, cereal, fruit salad and bread options. Standard coffee good German filter not espresso (though that’s available at the bar); orange juice average. Supper was freshly cooked smallish choice (these do go hand in hand, of course) - have a look at the menu in advance and if there’s something you like the look of eat here, quality is excellent. Staff very friendly; rooms moderate size, very clean, toiletries provided (shower gel and shampoo, no lotion or conditioner). Large non-leaky showers. You can claim a free snack if you forego your room servicing (!) ….. Rooms are non-smoking but they provide a smokers’ lounge for *******. To be recommended.

The Hotel Elephant Weimar in the heart of the classic city is one of Germany's most historic and renowned hotels. Looking back on a long tradition the hotel is operated by arcona Hotels & Resorts and reopened in October 2018 as Autograph Collection hotel after extensive renovation. Under this brand, Marriott unites exceptional, hand-picked hotels with a unique perspective in design, craftsmanship and hospitality under the premise of "exactly like nothing else". The unique charm of the future boutique hotel is characterized by timelessly elegant design as well as classic Art Deco and Bauhaus elements, which are reflected in 99 comfortable rooms and suites, meeting rooms and public areas. Cultural topics and culinary art are in the focus of attention, as well as an in-house cultural expert opening the treasures of Weimar to guests in the house and on private city tours. One of them is the Hotel Elephant itself: for over three centuries it has been the hub of the city's social life.

The location of the hotel is first-rate, the city center square is just outside, and the small theater is opposite. Goethe-related repertoires are staged every day. Just a few steps away is the pedestrian street. The restaurant is superb, with first-class service and food. The hotel lobby is connected to the restaurant with a hall, full of paintings on the wall, and concerts are held from time to time. There is a large parking lot, the extra bed depends on the room type you book

When I came, I saw a country house in the rain, which was the kind of big house in Agatha's novel that stood alone in a field, and when night came, there would be a secret room murder, and I was looking forward to getting up in the morning and serving a cup of coffee to go for a walk in the endless fields. I found that I could rent and lived without thinking. I woke up in the morning and heard the rain hitting the window. I opened the curtains and was stunned by the sight. The cherry blossom trees in the garden downstairs were swaying in the rain, and the petals were snowing. The window was wrapped around the thick vines, and the rain was smashed on the grass. The smell was the fragrance of wet moss, earth and grass forest. It's so beautiful. Be sure to come and live!

Excellent
An excellent hotel in a lovely city within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. My room was basic but clean, the staff on reception friendly and helpful and the breakfast (included in the price, unusual in Germany) was tasty and (although the hot options were poor and a little cold) there was a wide range of other options. A good value, centrally located hotel!
KKonstantin AlekseevGreat location, literally 2 minutes on foot to the Erfurt Cathedral. Great breakfast, good variety, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff.
The room itself is not what one will expect from a 4-stars-hotel. Absolutely uncomfortable, cold, old furniture which doesn't suit to such a hotel. Horribly noisy, basically you can hear your neighbours, awful! Not to mention the old noisy a/c! No coffee maker or at least a kettle in the room! Instead you're kindly asked to go to the reception and buy coffee or any drinks from the vending machine. And please, people, check the tissues package! If there are only several tissues left, then you'd better change the whole package instead of waiting till it's empty...or am I wrong?!
During my next trip to Erfurt I will definitely try another hotel to compare it, this one gets from me the lowest possible mark!
GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel on two separate nights bookending a trip to Frankfurt. This hotel is not - in our experience - typical of the Mercure brand. Far too often Mercure's are in good locations but somewhat rundown, tired and in need of attention. This is quite the opposite. It appears to have been wholly refurbished in the last five years, it is looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated near to both the old town and the main, new shopping area, both being no more than five minutes walk away. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the railway station or (for us) a €10 taxi ride. There is paid for car parking if required. This is a deceptively large hotel, the short frontage belies the fact that it has 141 rooms. The hotel stretches back from its frontage - we felt it was long and not very wide. It is spread over four floors and possibly an attic. We were on the fourth floor for our first visit and on the first floor for the second. Entry into the hotel from the street leads to a small reception area with ottoman seating. Screened from reception is a small bar and another soft seating area. The bar had elusive opening times - but seemed not to operate before 18:00 hours. Service was good. There is a restaurant that is not the breakfast room but that was not open during our stay with no sign of opening on the horizon. All public areas were clean, tidy and well maintained, albeit with a Alpine overtone! Access to the upper floors is via dedicated lifts or stairs depending upon the location of the room, with some rooms there is quite a walk to the lift. There is a small garden and paved area with seating. We saw no specific provision for disabled access but believe that the hotel is easy enough to negotiate. There is a separate breakfast room which works very well albeit it is not large. It is at the furthest end of the hotel from reception and bypasses some of the meeting rooms. Whilst these rooms were used during our stays we experienced no difficulties. We took breakfast early and the restaurant was never full or cramped. Breakfast is generous but prettty standard continental fare. Our first room (413) was a standard room and disappointing although it was clean and well cared for. Our second room however (136) was an upgrade and provided exceptional space and comfort for a reasonable price. Had we been able to satisfactorily understand the room descriptions and attributes on the website a room such as 136 would have been our preference. It had a large and comfortable double bed, a small seating area with table, a separate desk along with the usual accessories of a safe, TV, wifi etc. We didn't try the TV but everything else worked. There is no aircon but there is very effective radiator heating. We can imagine that opening the windows for some rooms would produce a great deal of street noise, but both our rooms were towards the rear of the hotel and quiet. There was no noise from the corridor or between roo
CChouyanhechaEverything else is fine, but the lights are too dark. In addition, check in is online, the reservation number to be filled in is not easy to find, and Trip.com's order number is not the same thing, it took the boss to get the check-in procedure, the result of the mobile phone can not display the door password, check in for a long time, change the mobile phone to see the password.
Drei Tage waren wir im Hotel Weißer Schwan. Zimmer waren sauber, Betten gut.
