Diuwak

This was our second stay at Diwuk and we loved it even more this time. Rodney was amazing and so accommodating. Both Rodney and Dinnier helped us coordinate tours and transportation for everything. The breakfast was delicious and everything was fresh. Milton is a great cook. Pool was very relaxing. The property was very well kept. So natural and peaceful. We can not wait to come back!

The hotel did not have running for more than half of our stay (sink and shower totally unusable), and the AC/TV stopped working on a few occasions. This was Not an outage for the entire town so I reached out to reception and hotel customer service immediately and was told it was "out of their control" and offered no compensation. This area of Costa Rica is very hot and virus's are spread rapidly amoung visitors and (I probably don't need to even explain why) water is a neccessity. Unfortunately had they handled the issue appropriately my review would be much different.

Diuwak hotel went over and above expectations! To start with, the staff. Alexander at the front desk was extremely helpful and spoke very fluent English (which is huge as I know little Spanish )! Even if Alex was off work and I had a question he was willing to help! The restaurant was always cooking up excellent food from breakfast to supper! They were also even cooking after hours occasionally! Rodney the bartender is my new favourite bartender whom my girlfriend and myself were spoiled by his delicious drinks and even more his fun and charming personality! The cleaning staff was steady busy all the time, from sweeping up the leaves from the night before to cleaning the rooms, bar none! I highly recommend anyone visiting Dominical to stay at Diuwak, as I know will be returning in the near future! Pura Vida!

Nice location, but the dirties hotel room I’ve seen in Costa Rica. Good traditional breakfast - the best I had in Costa Rica. Nice staff speaking Spanish but very little English. Close to the beach and with several restaurants around.

First off let’s start with the pros: it’s one of the nicer properties in dominical and quite happy with the layout and how the property is taken care of. The pool was quite nice and the hotel is located in a good spot. There is a guy that seems to run the desk and breakfast in the morning who is extremely friendly, polite and hospitable. We had many great interactions with him. The breakfasts were not huge but adequate, although it wasn’t well explained if we were allowed to have more than one coffee or juice etc and nobody offered us a refill but not the end of the world! The room and bathrooms were clean. The cons: we originally reserved a room with a fridge and upon our arrival was placed into a room without a fridge. They wanted us to pay them more for the fridge. After arguing and telling us we were going to leave, they conceded and provided us a room with a fridge. I was happy that a coffee maker was provided but after having opened it, I was disgusted about the amount of absolute filth was inside, I don’t have high standards for coffee (17 years in the army) but I wouldn’t drink anything that came from that coffee machine. To be fair I didn’t inform the staff because I didn’t want to complain about another thing on top of the fridge. All in all, I would probably go back if it was convenient and the right price.
