Atlantis Dive Resort Dumaguete

After staying at the Puerto Galera resort, we were so excited to experience the Dumaguete location. The entire property is gorgeous, full of amazing plant and animal life. The rooms were spectacular, modern and spacious. We were thrilled at how comfortable and large the beds were - perfect for a deep sleep after 5 dives a day! The dive team at Dumaguete was so on top of it - we were amazed at how many divers they managed seemingly without effort. The muck diving just minutes from the resort beach led to the most incredible diving experiences I've ever had. Our dive guide, Genie, and captain Donald were such a joy to spend time with above and below the water. We've never laughed so hard in our life! The boat entry at this location was a bit difficult during bigger surf, but the dive team made sure to keep our hands free of gear so we can safely board the boat. As for the rest of the resort - the staff were very attentive. The entire spa team did not disappoint - highly recommend a body wrap followed by a deep tissue massage! The restaurant views were right on the water, with enthusiastic service from our favorite server Annie and manager Albert. I can't wait to return!!

Here I go again! What can I say but this resort is so amazing. The area where the rooms are gives you the feeling of being in the jungle and the rooms are big and spacious. The staff here was welcoming and kind. Each member learns and calls you by name when seeing you. It makes you feel like you’re family. The diving is mostly macro, “muck”, diving in black sand. It is a photographers dream. Very few corals or reefs. The trip out to Apo Island is a must do. Alfred was our dive guide. He knew where to find all the wonderful critters. My compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. The meals were delicious and more than I could eat. I asked for half portions several times. Annie was our waitress and she was awesome. My reservation representative, Emily Jamero, did an amazing job helping me make all the arrangements for this trip. She really went above and beyond.

We had an unforgettable scuba diving experience with Atlantis Dive Resort in Dumaguete. The accommodations, dive operation, food and service were all top notch. Our dive guide Cyrus Cuizon was an incredibly patient and safe diver who found so many beautiful critters on our bucket list. It seemed the other guides looked to him for advice on where to find the harder to find under water critters, he was that good. The boat captains were also incredibly safe, helpful and hard working. The boat crews were very kind and helpful and the managers were all very attentive and willing to help with any needs we had. We will definitely be back for more unforgettable muck diving!

This was our first stop in the Philippines and is a beautiful resort with A** customer service - flawless! The resort is filled with plants and flowers and you wander down the small paths to rooms that are completely shaded from the sun (beachfront ones not included!) all of the rooms have balconies or garden areas to sit at - our family room was down a corridor yet still felt nice and peaceful to sit in for an early morning coffee. The main benefit of the resort is the waterfront restaurant and bar where the food is brilliant - 4 or 5 choices every evening if you are full board and were super accommodating when our son just wanted a pizza instead! Drinks are more expensive than the rest of the Philippines but it is a more exclusive resort - maybe £3 for a beer and £6 for a G&T. Breakfast is also to order and brilliant - we loved King’s cappuccino’s and he was ready for our order each morning. The kids loved the pool area and the trips we did out to both Apo island and scuba diving were great - again scuba diving here is 2-3 times more than when we stayed in Siquijor but the guides were great and there is zero transfer time as the coral is on your doorstep so some people were easily fitting in 3-4 dives a day. One point was the free trip to Apo island we had - didn’t realise we had to pay for the scuba diving which was 3 dives per person but we probably should have realised. Dives are around £40 per person for around an hour. Rooms are large and clean - we had 2 king beds for the 4 of us with a large bathroom, walk in change area and fridge (stocked mini bar but room for your own). Housekeeping every day left the rooms immaculate. Outside the resort we hired a local taxi driver to take us to twin lakes for the day and also walked along the beach into the nearby town (around 20 mins) there are a few laidback bars along the beach if you need a change from the hotel but we mainly stayed at the resort. There is also some basic shops on the main road - around a 10 min walk from the resort to stock up on any snacks etc Would Definately recommend.

I went to Atlantis Puerto Galera for 6 nights and then Dumaguete for 6 nights with International Scuba out of Dallas and ended up extending my trip by 5 nights. The resort is beautiful with lush landscaping. The rooms are great, the restaurant was fabulous, and the staff super friendly and everyone (gardener, spa, dive team, bar, restaurant …) knew your name by day 2. You really do feel like family. The diving – over the top amazing. All groups were small and our group was made up of 4 avid photographers and every day we saw something new – a virtual feast for the eyes. Our groups were small, and our DM Wing could find anything and everything. From Shaun the Sheep nudibranch’s to creatures so small you had to take photos and blow them up to see what they were, he found them all. While we hadn’t seen a single blue ringed octopus in the first 6 days, after I extended, we saw 5 of them (sorry Dallas folks!).

This resort was top notch! Entire staff from the chef to the dive staff went out of their way to make this the most enjoyable experience possible. Special requests were handled expertly in every respect. Everyone was clearly focused on making the guest experience as elegant as possible! From special meal requests, front desk requests, and the dive staff performance, it was all 5 star!

Background information: Our local SCUBA shop (Madison WI's Breezeway Bubbles) organized a trip to the Atlantis Dive Resort in Dumagete on the island of *****s Oriental in the Philippines. My husband and I were a part of a group of about 25 people. We left LAX on January 8th (2024) and returned to LAX on January 20th, staying at the resort X nights. Also, for context, we travel internalionally one to thrree times a year (though I've been remiss in writing reviews) and we have stayed at some incredibly swanky places, including The Fairmont - Nile City (link) in Cairo, Egypt, and The Grand Luxxe (link) in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. With regards to diving operations, we have also experienced some first rate diving -- including Pro Dive at the International Occidental Cozumel (link), Reef Divers at Little Cayman Beach Resort (link) and The Res Sea Aggressor IV liveaboard. Again, this information is meant to contextualize my definition high class resorts, hotels, and diving operations (not brag!). Review: Combining luxury and SCUBA diving is a complex and difficult goal. In my experience, most SCUBA divers travel with as little as possible -- unless it is dive/camera gear. By the end of our trips, most of us look rather ragged because we only brought 4 changes of clothes and have been hand washing things in our showers. Generally, we are not carrying Birken bags or wearing the latest Hermés summer fashions (but, oh! Is that the newest Shearwater dive computer?). Further, while we do make exceptions, we generally follow a fairly consistent pattern when on a dive vacation: sleep, eat, dive (repeat!). We also tend to prefer smaller resorts, as they provide more tailored offerings, especially regarding the diving. Taking these things into consideration, our definition of luxury is typically more focused on comfort and quality and, well, diving setups. Atlantis Dumagete provided one of the best on-land experiences I have ever enjoyed abroad. Once you add in the fact that they also have a quality in-house diving operation, it is my view that they have perfected something very few achieve: an unparalleled diving resort! We got first rate diving, first rate staff, first rate dining, first rate spa offerings, first rate accomodations, and first rate commitment to their guests. Their motto, "come as a guest, leave as a friend" (CHECK) is clearly something they mean and drives everything they do. The resort itself is a beautiful site tucked away and on the beach. It is a quiet and beautiful slice of paradise. The gardens are phenomenal and the layout takes into consideration privacy, while also keeping the walking distance to the main buildings short and sweet. Everything is impeccable and well cared for. The pool is a great place to relax, but the spa is to die for (and affordable)! The staff are all incredibly welcoming and extremely competent. Like, I've never had such amazing massages before! Just got back from an amazing 10-day stay at the Altantis Dumaguete Dice Resort. You will be pampered by their fantastic staff, who will know you by name from day one. The food was awesome. Great wait staff, incredible offerings for all our meals. Albert ensured everything was running to perfection. The staff at the reception desk were always helpful and greeted us with a smile each and every time. We also indulged ourselves in several of their 90 min massage offerings. Also highly recommended after many days of consecutive dives. Speaking of dives, their staff is beyond compare, boy were we treated well by the Titan boat crew, tank boys, and staff. Gear was handled well, carefully set up and well-organized. Now to our dive guides, Ginie and Cyrus were on this boat and were amazing to dive with. Cyrus was my team's guide for this trip and he was stellar. He celebrated his 14th work anniversary this past week, and you can tell he loves what he does. Got to chat with him about more than just diving, and it was a wonderful experience to get to know him and dive with him. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

I traveled to Atlantis Dumaguete with my local dive shop. I have never been to a friendlier resort. The staff went out of their way to make it the best vacation for all of us. They could not have been more helpful or kind in the dive prep area, on the dive boat, in the lobby and restaurant. Even the grounds keeper was so nice and took me to a plant that would bloom at night. The restaurant had wonderful meal choices each day. Breakfast always started with a fruit plate and juice. The tasty food was always artfully presented. It was so nice to always be with the same dive guide, Warfi. I don't think I would have found 98% of the critters without him! I also enjoyed the massages at the spa. If you are looking for a big fancy glitzy type of place this is not it. It is a boutique resort. It is my type of place. Clean, safe and kind. If you have bad knees like me, you may want to request a ground floor room ahead of time. The buildings are two stories with stairs. I would consider breaking my motto of not traveling to the same place twice to come back to Atlantis Dumaguete! It truly was that amazing.
