Check in was a bit of a disappointment. When we arrived, we were told that we couldn’t stay there at Home2 after all, because they were completely booked up - even though we made these reservations 3 months prior. We were told we had to go down the street to their sister hotel l, The Hampton. I was really disappointed because I specifically booked Home2 because the rooms looked neat, and the Hampton was a downgrade. So we loaded the car back up and drove to the other hotel.
Check in there was tricky because we had to explain the situation but they found our reservation. They tried to charge us their full price at their “no vacancy” rate, but were kind enough to bring that rate down since we made reservations for the other hotel 3 months ago, and it was a downgrade.
Our room was nice, newly renovated, but the paint smell was still pretty strong and gave me a headache. Our room also wasn’t equipped with the remote to close the shades yet, so we had to go back to the front desk to get it.
It was a disappointing stay for sure, but I will say the staff at both Home2 and The Hampton were nice.
