The staff as this location is amazing! Super friendly, accommodating and professional. I love coming to Columbia and knowing that I will be taken care of at the place where I am staying gives me peace of mind. If you are looking for a hotel that is centrally located, you won't find a better place.
Explore the celebrated attractions of downtown Columbia including Main Street shops and numerous historic sites-from our landmark hotel. Built during 1912-1913 our hotel graces downtown with its striking façade of limestone and terra cotta, stunning copper cornices and it is unusual use of the Palmetto tree motif, our state tree. The tallest building in Columbia when constructed, the fifteen story building rises 215 feet. Many original features of the building have been preserved and people are quick to notice its charm and personality.

Shower hard to operate. No regular coffee in room, $200 deposit paid for incidentals at check in… today I have a bill charge taken out of $119.25, instead of the credit of $200 back . I had already paid the reservation in full to Trip.com before check in. Front desk staff was very rude during entire stay. Most problematic even still was that I did NOT have wifi connection during the entire stay! Had to use my cellular data in the room all during the night … front desk never resolved nor seemed concerned about not having wifi access , nor did they offer a solution or compensation. We sat out front of the hotel for over 3 hours trying to come up with the $200 credit card to “authorize” for incidentals. Not the best experience for my birthday or ever! Calling hotel now about the non return of my $200 and double paying for the room that we only in from 10:30 pm- 12:15 next day!

I stayed here for one night while playing at an Oktoberfest off site. It was bascially pretty good. The room was modern and nice. There is a lot of noise fromt he street but it was Saturday night. The parking is in their garage and is free. You are just given a slip of paper to put on your dash. Check in and out were basically good. I did try to check out and got someone else's bill by accident. This was corrected though. The breakfast was not a good experience as I had to buy a dried oatmeal canister to put in my microwave. The coffee was good as it was Starbucks. All in all, if you are staying on campus, this is a good choice.

A great replacement for a bad hotel down the road. I had a reservation at the Fairfied on Blarney. I arrived to a loud and rowdy gathering in the parking lot. I immediately called Marriott and booked this hotel. This property has undergone a fairly recent reservation. The staff was courteous and responsive. I was amazed by coffee available at the lounge. It was as good as fresh coffee at a Starbucks store. The room was clean and quiet. A great stay after a bad experience. The property had the feel of a much higher priced hotel.

I picked this place because of its high rating here...most of the time, the rankings here are pretty accurate. I would say this time, it was not...at least for me. The hotel is a relatively small establishment with 3 floors inside an industrial park. The good: The hotel had a clean modern design. The common areas were nicely decorated with good places to sit. There is a gas fire pit in the back of the hotel...goo place to enjoy a cigar and beer. The hotel staff were all very friendly. The not so good: The back of the hotel faces a major highway. I had a room with a balcony but it was unpleasant to sit out there due to the noise. The room itself was a bit smaller than other rooms in this category of hotel. The walls and ceiling/floors were not well insulated and noise traveled right through them. The location was underwhelming...there are better alternatives in the Columbia area with more interesting options for dining/shopping. The breakfast was ok, and not free for all. It was à la carte and not a buffet that is more common in this class of hotel. The ”restaurant” staff was not as friendly as the reception staff. The gym was ok...very small but I didn't see anyone else working out. Overall, I would probably look for an alternative next time.

Laura Martinez handled a situation when I was checking out on April 10. She said she would make the adjustment and Ms Martinez did so in an excellent manner at an expeditious pace. Ms Martinez is an employee that represents your hotel property and the Marriott Brand well. Please recognize her for her excellent customer service.

This property did a nice job at doing everything it set out to do, but not trying to be more and instead focus on getting the important stuff right. As a whole, I left very satisfied, and please look below for a more detailed outline. Location: 5 Stars It’s super close to a mall, tons of restaurants, a grocery store, gas stations, and is easily accessible from I26. Curb Appeal: 5 Stars The outside is in fantastic shape and looks nice no matter how close or far you are. The landscaping is also well done, and parking is plentiful and well lit. Common Areas: 5 Stars While I didn’t make use of the pool, I can vouch for the business and fitness center being perfectly adequate, and all of the sitting areas, hallways, plus elevators were well appointed, and were kept clean throughout my stay. Customer Service: 6 Stars I couldn’t help but give a bit of a bonus here, this is seriously one of the best managed hotel, and probably the friendliest people I’ve encountered in the industry. Jessica specifically was fantastic, she’s definitely in the right industry. The Room Itself: 4.5 Stars I had room 407 which was a 1 Queen Studio Suite and was nearly perfect. The entry way was well lit, and had a spacious closet with tons of clever storage solutions (a theme that continues throughout the room) and all the amenities a good hotel would have. There was also a galley kitchen across from it that did everything you’d expect with nice and clean dishware. Past this was a rather nice desk area that was well lit and had plenty of outlets and a ton of built in storage. Beyond this is the sofa which was pretty comfy and featured some tables. The view was nothing special but the drapes where in good shape and the HVAC worked well. The bed was also nice and had plenty of storage and plugs around it. Last but not least is the spacious and spotless restroom with tons of storage and a functional sink and toilet. The only complaint about my stay would be the fact that the shower had a few rough patches in the caulk and the curtain was every so slightly too long and proved a nuisance when trying to shower. Neither of these are big deals though. Value: 5 Stars Considering this was the cheapest mid scale hotel in the neighborhood, and included an above average free breakfast, I consider it an excellent value. Summary: If you’re coming to the Columbiana area, I think I found your hotel!

GGuest UserI must say my children an I we have been throughout our share of hotels from marriotts to hiltons to just ur regular quality and I have to say by far my kids and I have been so welcomed and just felt like we are apart of a big family ... I have to give all props to me frank at the front desk ... From my reservation overnthebphone to in person ... He is quite an amazing person and has truly made our stay wonderful thank u mr frank .. I hope to come across more employees like him.in future ...
The staff has been wonderful for my staff so far cleaning crew is on point and the staff during the breakfast. Ms Erica is a wonderful hostess, always checking up on everyone to make sure they are having a wonderful stay. It was very appreciated.
AAshley NapierBeware of this hotel! Stayed nearly 30 days here. Had over $2000 still unresolved Fraud charges on two of my cards used at this hotel. Was harrassed daily even when room had been paid in full. Double charged twice during the stay tying up much needed funds that took over a month to get credited and refunded! Police were called , ultimately forced to leave a night I paid $165 for! Waited hours at the desk. They would run my card so many times and have it flagged for fraud - forcing me into hours on phone held hostage in their lobby while I had to call my bank and fight to have fraud alert lifted. Door keys constantly not working in the middle
Of the night. Pool room was freezing and pool dirty. The laundry had one working machine for entire hotel day and night. The printer was NEVER able to be used to print anything. The game
Room we were not even told existed until 3 weeks after staying there. Then once we knew about it no one could find where the game controller and supplies were kept. Horrid nightmare experience!
GGuest UserI will start with the good. The shower was excellent and the bed was comfy.
Room 128 had no kleenex, clock, hangers or hairdryer. If MainStay is supposed to be like home, this place wasn't! Apparently they are trying to save the earth because the lighting is so dim you will not be reading in the room or applying makeup. Bathroom has a vessel sink which is a pain. There was a bar of soap and nowhere to put it. No plastic cups for brushing your teeth, but instead they have glass tumblers. Dangerous if one of those hits the tile bathroom floor! The web-site advertises free breakfast but there is no such thing. Then take it off of your web-site!
HHP BrooksI loved my stay here everything was good I loved the amenities that they had, even though I didn’t get into the pool I loved that they had one. And I didn’t have any soap in my bathroom.
LLandis LSubject: Request for Full Refund and Immediate Resolution Due to Unprofessional Conduct and Humiliation at Comfort Inn Suites Harbison Columbia Dear Hotel Manager, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the treatment I received during my recent stay at the Comfort Inn Suites in Harbison. My experience has been nothing short of humiliating and inconsiderate, both to me and my 11-year-old daughter, who was unfortunately exposed to an entirely unprofessional situation. Upon checking in, I was initially pleased with the possible accommodations. However, upon getting to our room and in the following morning, we were abruptly woken by loud drilling noises and machinery from the room directly above ours. My 11-yr old daughter, who was not feeling well, was attempting to rest, and the noise made this impossible. I contacted the front desk to address this issue, hoping for a swift resolution. Unfortunately, the response I received was disheartening. The attendant (manager) acknowledged the inconvenience but informed me that no other rooms were available and that we would just have to endure the disturbance. After leaving the hotel to allow my daughter to rest elsewhere, we decided to extend our stay from Friday night, initially checking out on Sunday, to instead checking out on Tuesday, September 3rd. With an outlook that we can possibly switch our room since this was not the room that we initially paid for. This conversation was brought to the attention of the attendant at check-in when we noticed that the keys describe the third floor and not the top floor. I approached the front desk to inform them of this extension, which I had arranged through a third-party service. The attendant assured me that since the incidental charge had already been processed for our current room, there would be no need for an additional charge. Especially since we didn't receive the double queen premium room on the top floor, which we paid extra for. She then extended our reservation and provided us with new keys. With the assurance of a room change when she spoke to manager for confirmation at her arrival. However, around 11:40 AM that same morning, the new keys stopped working, requiring us to return to the front desk to have them rekeyed. Later that day, when we returned to our room with our dinner in hand, intending to relax and watch TV, we found that the keys were again not working. Upon inquiry, the manager explained that the keys had been deactivated intentionally. She informed me that the attendant who had extended our reservation had failed to collect an additional $50 incidental charge, which she claimed was my responsibility to pay immediately. Additionally, she also detailed how she seen me on the cameras making the attempt to come down to pay the incidentals. I explained to the manager that my other daughter, who is a paraplegic, had my card for shopping, and I would settle the incident
GGuest UserRoom was clean, decor nice, comfy bed. No microwave in room & room coffee wasn't good but hotel did provide breakfast. Staff was very friendly & helpful. We were surprised to be treated to free margeuritas at the bar that evening since we were staying there! Overall great stay!
RRon StevensonStayed for drill. Property is in a nice area but us definitely dated. Would consider staying again, but I concur with previous posters; they do have a roach problem
FFreeBirdsThis establishment is Great! Kudos to the awesome staff Marva and Kozat at the front desk, Diane from house keeping... Y'all are the best and the friendliest staff ever. You've made my stay pleasant and I enjoyed staying here. Will definitely stay again! Keep up the great work. To those who look at past reviews, forget it 😊 The room is clean with all the amenities described, the staff is awesome you'll be pleasantly surprised and enjoy your stay.
AAdventurer101The property has improved since the last time I stayed here. Room was clean and all amenities were as described. This property has started serving breakfast too for those who booked rooms with meals. I was concerned about the bugs like what had happened during my stay before; however, the only time I saw a bug crawling on the wall was on my last night here. All in all, an improved property.
