Motel 6 Youngstown, Oh

The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and got us checked in quickly. She even went to our room ahead of time to make sure that it was cleaned properly. We got to our room and the air conditioning was already on so that was nice as it was about 80° outside. We entered from the front entrance and went through a door to head up some stairs to the second floor. This was inside the building. The steps in the hallways were carpeted and they were filthy. It looks like they hadn't been vacuumed in months! We got to our room and we both mentioned that the glass on the front entrance doors needed to be cleaned and there were other glass doors that needed wiped down with glass cleaner. The room was very nice and very clean. We didn't use the shower but the bathroom was clean. I did notice some mold on the caulking around the bathtub but again we didn't use it. The back of the remote that cover the batteries was missing and the bathroom switch did not work to shut the light off. There were only three pillows on a king size bed and they were half the size of standard pillows so we went down to the front desk and asked if we could have a fourth pillow and she said no they only provide three. The air conditioning worked great so we were happy with that. We had brought some takeout food back to the room for dinner and there was only one place for one person to sit as that is how it is set up in the room. So we sat on the bed and ate there which was fine. They definitely need to clean more but all in all for the price we were very happy with our stay and will be back.

The room was very nice, very hot water which I love and it was clean. Sid, the person at the desk when we got here was very professional and kind. We were exhausted at this point and his speed of service and getting us into our room was wonderful. The ladies the next morning were as well. One thing I wish is that the room had a microwave, especially for extended stays. We started off with a day and ended up staying for three. I dont know if other rooms have them but I know ours did not. The only other thing is the people in the rooms around ours were very loud running in and out of their room, bangi g the doors, and playing loud music all at 1 in the morning. I dont know when they stopped as I eventually fell asleep out of that same exhaustion. Thank you so much Motel 6!

The room smelled strongly of animal and ammonia, the floors were filthy and turned my kids feet black. The bathroom door looked like it had been punched in it at one point, the toilet was stained and smelled, the bathtub was stained and gross. It is NOT family friendly, nor a safe environment. The parking lot is full of giant potholes as well.

I know this property is a "motel" not a "hotel" so I wasn't expecting anything crazy. But what I was expecting is at least a decently cleaned room and somewhere I could sleep safely for the night. This room was absolutely disgusting. The walls had filth all over them, there was outlet covers and wires hanging out the wall, the tub/shower looked like it was never cleaned, no toilet paper holder so they sat the half used roll on the side of the dirty tub, multiple burn holes on the bedding and many other issues. When going to the front desk to tell them I wanted to check out due to the condition of the room the gentleman working nights told me the system wouldnt allow it for some reason but he would make a note for someone. When asking for a receipt he couldn't provide it and he also couldn't answer any questions or concerns I had because he was just the "night shift" worker. This room to me is filthy and has fire hazard issues so it shouldnt be booked for any upcoming stays until it is cleaned and correctly maintained to at least make sure all broken outlets covers/wires are fixed.

There was mold on the shower curtain. The toilet paper holder and night stand was broken. Light for the sink was out. They also have roaches. They need to do alot of work on their rooms. Not worth the money.

The good: pleasant staff at checkin. The price was inexpensive. The bad: the exterior walkways and parking are not clean. There was litter in the hallways for the duration of our stay. The rooms look nothing like they are pictured online. The carpeted hallways were worn through. When we checked into our room, the smell of bleach and cigarettes was overwhelming. We opened the window for an hour to vent the smell. We left and came back a few hours later and it just smelled like cigarettes. After staying there for 2 days, all of our belongings smelled like cigarettes. The paint in the room was old and stained. All sorts of liquids have been splattered on the walls and never cleaned. The bathroom tile and grout is old and moldy. The toilet bowl had permanent stains. There was a hole in the wall. The smoke detector was disconnected. The pillows were 1/3 full of filling. We found 3 roaches during the stay. There are no amenities of any kind. You get a bed, four walls, bathroom, towels and soap. No other toiletries, no coffee, no hairdryer (not even at the front desk.) But besides all of that, we hated it.
