We stayed here for two nights midweek. The staff were friendly and polite and the accessible room we had booked was clean and met our needs. However.... my area of concern was the handling of accessibility requirements. On both evenings, the car park was full, mainly with work vehicles, vans etc. The hotel is popular with workers needing to stay over on jobs. This included all the blue badge parking spaces, which were occupied by vans not displaying blue badges. At least one was a serial offender and parked there on both nights. My husband has severe mobility problems and he needs a blue badge space. We took this up with reception who basically said 'oh dear'. They made no attempt to find the drivers, although reg numbers are taken at check in, or to put notices on the vehicles etc. Obviously they value their custom more than mine. The pub car park next door was almost empty and these vehicles could easily have parked there. Instead we had to park there and my husband had a difficult and painful walk to our room. This is just not acceptable. If there is no consequence or discouragement, these selfish, inconsiderate drivers will continue to do this. Get it sorted, premier inn, this is a significant issue and a big black mark against you in terms of your accessibility credentials.
