Awful Hotel the bar area smelt of smelt of stale beer when entering, the carpets leading to the rooms were old and dirty. The room was like a bed sit! Room smelt not sure what of maybe urine I didn’t even get in the bed as could not bring myself to. Noisy people shouting in the corridor at 1am. If I could have moved on I would have done but everywhere booked up. Tables were breakfast were served were sticky and the stale smell of beer put me off! Plus the smoking area at the back of the hotel is where the kitchen door was wide open which put me off eating any food there!

Perfect stay - highly recommended. Staff really welcoming, friendly & very helpful. The room was very well kept - really clean and tidy. Everything worked as it should - no noise coming from within or outside of hotel. Bar was great and the hotel is located right in the middle of the town. Pay and display car park within 3-minute walk of hotel & big Tesco store over the road.

If it wasn't for Rick and the staff this place would not be so great. Lovely place for the cost and friendliness. Good place to stay. Always friendly and good service. Food is great especially Sunday roast. Guinness is the best. Not stay here as live in chepstow. Locals always made welcome too.

A warm welcome from Ricky. The room was nicely decorated & spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable and a good breakfast with friendly staff. The one complaint was Room 17 definitely needs a decent shower. It was either too hot or too cold and when the temperature was just right, it was a but of a trickle! Overall good value for money though. Thanks!

We had a family Sunday lunch for eight people there on the 15th. Not only was the food just absolutelyfantastic but also the staff went out of their way to discretely accommodate some dietary requirements. The whole, very special for us, occasion and the way were looked after was exemplary and we would like to thank Carly, Kelly and Ricky in particular for their hard work and attention to detail on what was a very busy afternoon for them.

Booked for us by a 3rd party walking group and this hotel suffers in comparison to the walking focused B and B’s we stayed in earlier in the week. This feels more like a pub with rooms, a bit dark inside and the public stairs etc are decidedly shabby. Busy bar with Sky which helped. Room was effective, large room , comfy bed and good shower. Fast breakfast operation with charming staff, bacon however a little burned and it looked like someone had deliberately hidden the burned bit under some ample beans. Good location, 5 mins from station.

I was given a ground floor room with a flimsy sash window opening on to their small car park. The window opened wide enough for someone to get through. Keeping it shut was not an option as the room was hot and there was no other ventilation. I therefore stayed elsewhere and requested a refund. The request was refused and I was told that I shouldn’t be travelling on my own as a single woman if I’m worried about someone climbing in the window.

Great central hotel in Chepstow …got a lovely welcome from Rick the manager with nothing too much trouble , helped us store our bikes. Rooms comfy and clean and a first class breakfast and super sports bar - excellent value for money - would recommend
