Great stay. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great with good selection. Special thanks to Dawn and Lilly who were very helpful when we had issue with keys and sourcing hairdryer. Only disappointment if you are at the front of the hotel there is road noise.

We held my Mum's 90th birthday at Ivy Hill Hotel, it was the perfect venue. The events team ensured the day was planned and ran perfectly. The staff were attentive in the background (the perfect balance). We chose afternoon tea which was really lovely and the team ensured that our dietry requirements and preferences were met exactly. The weather was fabulous and the party were able to sit outside and socialise and we were not rushed in the slightest. Thank you to all the staff for assisting in making it a celebration to remember.

Spent two nights 21/22Dec my family were all staying here for a wedding nearby, the room No10 stayed in, was warm, very clean and a great comfortable bed, but it was the staff that made this visit so special. Clare on reception who was so welcoming and even carried our luggage up two flights of stairs. Emma who waited on our table at breakfast and seemed quite honestly to do everything and anything you needed to make your stay special, lovely girl. Our fabulous North Carolina waitress, who service was second to none. Henry our barman whom we kept very busy 😂 such a gentleman. The ladies who cleaned the rooms were also so lovely. In all I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that was so welcoming, warm and cared about its guests as much as these guys. Congratulations and Merry Christmas 🎄

I have to say It was fantastic, Especially Karen And Laura, we only stayed the one night but wow such lovely people, really made us welcome and at home. I Would certainly recommend to anyone they are absolutely Fabulous and work really hard to make your stay as comfortable and easy as you would expect, the service from Laura And Karen from reception and the bar was Impressive to say the least, really made us feel welcome making it a home from home.

Only stayed for one night but i cannot fault this hotel in any way. room was fully air conditioned with ironing board and iron tea and coffee making facilities and TV. beds were so comfy and room was spotless. staff from check in to bar / kitchen staff were spot on. lovely venue with everything needed for a comfy nights stay 😁😁

BBatesReception staff very friendly and helpful. When I tried to check in the staff didn’t have my name but only my friends even though I was the one that paid for the room? Bar food was nice enough but quite expensive over £18 for 1 panini, 1 chips, soft drink & a tea! Room was clean and tidy and very quiet but unfortunately didn’t have the best sleep as bed was really uncomfortable, springs coming through the mattress and really lumpy hard pillows also which was a shame! Stayed there as music event was on at the Colchester Park and looked like it was the nearest hotel to it but walking there was a bit tricky as had to go across a main road and through a dodgy alleyway behind an industrial building which wasn’t signposted after the event had to walk the long way around through the town to get back to the hotel.
