On August 15, 2022, my boyfriend and I book a flight + hotel package on the "Volagratis" website, the price seemed quite convenient for having booked only two days before departure. Only after the total advance payment, we read in the details that this holiday home, if we can define it as such, wanted an additional €30 for check-in after 10.00pm in the evening (we had a flight from Naples at 9.30pm so we arrived I attach them at 00:00 ) Plus 50 euros extra for room cleaning! And yet the 3.80% additional tax for the stay. Obviously breakfast excluded. Given the lack of clarity during the booking phase where all this was not specified, we did not suspect it was a mega scam, I repeat, we were still booking through an online tour operator and this structure is present on other famous sites. Having said that, it is also specified to contact us to organize check-in at least 72 hours before with the structure. We start calling the number indicated and no one answers, we send messages, emails, nothing. We get in touch with Volagratis explaining to the assistance service what happened, and that having connected only after checking the reviews of the structure, they were bad as there were only negative experiences told of people defrauded who arrived there and the structure was not there but that if it went well you were sorted into other structures, very dirty and dilapidated, and if it went badly you were told that everything was full despite the reservation. Volagratis reassures us by saying that the structure was also notified by them of our night arrival via email and that we need not fear anything. Only arriving on site at 00:35 do we realize that there is no reception, the people who live in the building cannot give directions, and only say that this is not the first time this has happened. In the middle of the night with our luggage and disconcerted and even afraid of finding ourselves abroad and without a place to stay, even driven by a strong anger we go to the police to report the incident. The police also told us that this was not the first reported incident of this happening. Luckily, only at 5:35 in the morning do we find a serious, clean hotel, they gave us that despicable night, or what was left to rest for a few hours, breakfast included, impeccable cleanliness, organized, kind and helpful. And it also costs much much less. In bad luck we were lucky. I recommend to everyone the "4 star high fashion" hotel nearby in the heart of Budapest. The next day we contact Volagratis who replies that no refund is foreseen, for which we specify that ours is a scam and that if they do not refund we will also report them to the police.
