The Old Coach House

Basic hotel in which I have stayed many times in the summer. This was my first time during the winter, the heating system was almost non existent. Room was uncomfortably cold

It was warm comfortable and it was great was needed to stay for going to work

Very Basic, no Food avialable including breakfast which was disappointing. Provided our basic needs and was clean and tidy.

Smelly dated room, Rubbish on top of wardrobe, dirty cups, shower took 15 mins to give warm water, shower cubicle was absolutely disgusting, shower head caked in limescale, shaving light didn’t work, dirty bathroom floor. Honestly cannot figure out why this is a 3 star. Stayed in a 2 star hotel a week ago which was incredible in comparison. There’s no restaurant as advertised, no bar. Just avoid, yes it’s cheap (company paid for my stay) but it’s far from cheerful, far better stays in the area for only a few quid more.

Host was friendly and helpful, but the room was Freezing, The bathroom was dirty.

Hmmmm, was a bit worried after reading a couple of very recent reviews. They were pretty much damning so it was with some trepidation and the decision to check out if it was as described. I have to say, I can really see where the previous reviews came from. Yes it’s old, the room was small and restaurant was closed. In saying this, the room was clean, the water hot and the area quiet. Only negatives on the room were the lamp didn’t work and main light was dim. An odd occurrence was the TV turning on itself twice in the middle of the night! The remote was with the TV and nowhere near us so not sure what the go is there. The bathroom was clean although small. WiFi was a bit sketchy but adequate. There is a carpark off street at the side of the hotel and it is a short walk to the main area. Someone was there to check us in but no-one on checkout so we just left the key. For the price, this property is fine for a couple of nights.

Cheap cheerful and very friendly helpful staff. Great location with everything in easy walking distance. Dog friendly as well. It does not pretend to be a five star resort!!!! We will definitely return when next in the area!!!

Renovation work is ongoing. Room had been recently carpeted and the mattress and duvet were comfortable. Restaurant, bar, lobby, lounge etc all currently closed.

Staff is amazing. Price is outstanding! We had a nice room...no grills but a modern TV I could html my computer to. Location is perfect for our needs. Dog friendly although when we booked there wasn't a way to tell them we were bringing our dog & there is a dog charge.. will definitely book again
