Exceptional hotel! All at the maximum: room cleaning, staff friendly, breakfast rich with fresh and well-assorted products. Outdoor free parking possibilities. The only small neo is the distance from the center, but not too far. Good staff boys!

We stayed 3 nights in this delightful hotel as our base for exploring the region. The top floor suites look bigger in the online photos than they actually are, yet the room was comfy and we loved hearing the bells chime. Please be aware that the elevator is narrow. The breakfast is the usual fare of yogurt, cheeses, breads, and fruits. Our western-facing windows permitted us to see the sunset over the Arco da Porta Nova. Located at one end of the main shopping street, we had lots of options of cafes and restaurants as we strolled towards the central square area. It is also directly across from a small bakery cafe. Being a university town, we arrived just as new students were being initiated into their academic units and marching around in colorful groups singing songs until 4am, Since we had a rental car, going to Peneda Geres naitonal park was an easy drive and we enjoyed hiking and then returning to the hotel. The hotel recommends the Park Center (R. Cardoso Avelino 25, 4700-219) which is a short (10 minute) easy walk slightly uphill to the hotel. In October, the Park Center was mostly empty and quick to get in and out.

The hotel does not have a lobby, the space is cramped, the interior and furniture are slightly cheaper, and the price is not the same as the four stars. Fortunately, the location of the hotel is very good, only five minutes walk from the old city. When we arrived near the hotel, we found that the entire street, including the hotel's private parking lot, was blocked. It turned out to be a parade of Easter. It was impossible to stop and drag the baggage to a hotel 100 meters away. We had to park temporarily, very hard to push the luggage to sign in, ready to find the far away parking lot immediately after the formalities, sorry that the traffic police aunt has been placarding. The front desk of the hotel was not willing to help explain to the police, nor was it willing to pay for the entire parking lot, showing a way of not accepting responsibility. Knowing that the guest's parking space will be cancelled during the festival, without prior notice to the customer, it is convenient for us to make other arrangements. When things happen, they have a ”nothing to do with me” posture, despise it! In addition, the breakfast at this hotel is also very general.

We initially planned to stay in Braga for three days and then travel throughout the region. We liked the city, and especially this wonderful small hotel, so much that we stayed for a full week, and used it as a base for visiting other towns. Our room was quite pleasant, with modern decor, a very comfortable bed, and a decent sized (and attractive) kitchen area. Some people have complained about the fact that the shower has a glass wall that looks out onto the room, but you can lower a shade for more privacy if you wish. The location is amazing, 1/2 block from the cathedral but located on a small alley which was very quiet despite the lively seen in the cathedral plaza. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make you comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great views. The location alone makes it 4 or 5 stars. Right next to Bom Jesus, lots of walking trails, garden, children's park , outdoor exercise equipment, very small but cute and romantic lake with boat rentals in walking vicinity. Note, you have to go thru security gate to access parking area of all 3 or 4 hotels in same area. The hotel is a refurbished older boutique style hotel, which we loved. Clean, comfortable, quiet and room darkening shutters.
