on checking in we found the staff pleasant although found it strange we had to book a table for the restaurant, as it was only a third full when we sat down at 8 pm.
The room was dated and tied but clean. It was booked for 3 adults but only had two cups, two milks and 4 pillows.
I went to reception to ask for more milk and pillows and was advised the housekeeping had gone home taking the keys with them !!! I asked could I get milk from elsewhere within the hotel and was advised to get it from the bar. I was then informed I would be charged.......
When arriving at the restaurant we were offered the table next to the door which we declined and then was offered another table. We waited half an hour for our order to be taken and our food then arrived 1 hour 15 minutes after was sat down. We saw other customers complaining as all sorts of mistakes were being made - such as main courses coming out before starters, one person having their food and the 15 minutes later the other guest at the table having theirs.
When we tried our food the Salmon was over cooked and dry, the peppers were not seasoned and the pasta was cold. By this time we were beyond hungry and were very unhappy.
There was no manager or deputy manager on site and the most senior person was the chef - who was unexperienced. I would understand if the restaurant was full .... but the menus was a set one with two options for each course and it was not cheap.
HOTEL A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT AND OVERPRICED. WHAT A LET DOWN!
