Hotel AKA Boston Common Reviews

I booked the Kimpton Nine Zero hotel and apparently it was bought out about 10 days ago with no notice from Trip.com; but the staff are apparently the same during the transition so it was a bit insane that I pre-paid this stay on Ctrip and was immediately charged the full amount AGAIN of my stay at pre-check-in (not even room ready yet check-in) then charged the ENTIRE STAY again at 6pm on day of check-out even though I checked out at 7am that day and was reassured yet again all my charges would "fall off" and I would NOT be charged again. So this stay ended up costing me $1500 frozen in my account at one point for a $425 stay that was prepaid. The front office could definitely use some improvements as most people don't have an extra $1000 lying around to have frozen for no reason :(

Everything was great but the location

Very nice, the hotel front desk service is in place, the room style is retro, I like it very much

It's good and hygienic. The environment is okay. The bed is very comfortable, but the window faces the building and there is no view. The waiters are in place. There are many Chinese waiters. The two-bed room has two large beds and is very comfortable.

I really like the elegant style of the hotel

Booked las minute. Checking in was great. Agent pleasant and helpful, valet offered to charge the car and park it upfront at the charging station. 6AM the shrill sound of the hotel phone pierced the relaxing room’s silence. An other female employee was yelling in the receiver “Come move your car.” I acknowledged her put down the phone and started to pull On clothes. The phone rings again 5 minutes later and now the same front desk attendant is very upset and screaming at me. I head down and calmly ask her what the problem is as the prior evenings desk staff and valet assured me that they would communicate with the AM staff about our car and that it would not be a problem. I moved my own car and went back to try and sleep but did not.

Had a wonderful stay. Checking in was quick and easy. Valet was very helpful. My room was clean and modern. I will definitely be staying at Hotel AKA again.

Overall the hotel was great and as described on the website. Our main complaint relates to very poor lighting in the room we stayed in. The lights are in odd places and dim making it quite hard to read.

I really liked the hotel very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful rooms uniquely decorated with style. Very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable as well as pillows.

The hotel was very nice - with great decor and a great vibe. It was clean and the staff was wonderful, offers valet parking and has a great restaurant attached to it. Its pretty convenient to much of the city of Boston. From the Prudential Center, Newberry St and other attractions, its only about a 10-15 minute Uber ride at most. I did however, park in a parking garage on Washington St. and my car was broken into and a couple of things were stolen... Not the Hotel's fault, but just potentially an indication of the area. I gave the Hotel 5 stars except for the question about the area around the property.

King suite was lovely, staff were great. Bed was comfortable. I wish there was a coffee maker in the room. Parking is expensive - wish we knew they didn't have an EV charger (non-Tesla) onsite. We ended up leaving valet and finding a garage a couple blocks over that was cheaper and offered free charging. But otherwise, the location was great for a weekend getaway without the kids!

The night we stayed there was a couple who was having a very loud fight in the hallway. It went on for 1 1/2 hours with some intervention from the hotel. I wished they had made them go to a different location when they were all meeting to come to a solution instead of right outside our door. This happened at 2:00 a.m.

After we paying the room bill, resort fee, destination fee, and deposit fee still charge us $616 for authorization fee. When we tried to contact with hotel, it took a incredibly long time to give us a response. Bad experience.
