Really unique rooms, lovely areas to both eat and drink in. Cocktails were a little overpriced but lovely. Food in the English restaurant was delicious, particularly the butternut squash starter and the banana bread dessert. A few things letting this hotel down are the wet room bathrooms as once you've showered in them there's just water everywhere so going in and out of the bathroom after that is annoying. Secondly, the 'discretionary 13.5% service charge which is added to every bill and which I imagine people either don't notice or feel embarrassed to say no to. Nice little money earner that! Thirdly the £150 taken at check-in on a card is a bit over the top. That is a lot of money to be holding and making inaccessible for someone to spend for a few days. And finally, the thing that needs most attention, is the service which was incredibly slow. There was only really one waitress in the area we sat in for our evening meal having to serve approximately 6-7 tables and around 20 people. The poor girl was rushed off her feet and therefore food was very slow to come out, some orders came out wrong and our bill was incorrect at the end. Kudos to the waitress for remaining unflustered though. This is such a unique hotel and we really enjoyed our stay but some real fine-tuning is needed to take this from average to excellent which is what I would have expected for the cost.

This place is amazing. The decor is beautiful. The food outstanding, One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. The cocktails were delicious. The room was out of this world, my wife loved the bath. The beds were comfy. The pillows were fluffy !The room was spotless.

Appalling service and average food. Totally overrated and very disappointed with the overall package. 15 minutes to be told the wine we have ordered was out of stock. 11 pm with our taxi seven minutes away we were hounded onto the street to wait.

Thieves Thieves Thieves Thieves Beware this establishment will take payment for services they haven't offered. Place is struggling and with high over heads , they are trying to make money illegally from they few customers they have. Their Thai restraunt is serving absolutely disgusting reheated food.. Fel ill after eating it. better going across the road to the Thai one... not as pretyy but defenitely much better food. A very upset customer

Stayed here for my birthday, a couple of things to be aware of…. - the lighting is very dark so hard for women to do their make up - take a ring light if you have one! - there is no door on the toilet only curtains so if your a new couple this might be a shock to you and a little embarrassing Other than the above we had a lovely stay, the staff were really helpful and the food was beautiful, we ate in the English restaurant. Would love to try the stadhampton hotel to compare. The decor is so unique and I’ve never been anywhere as unusual!

Disappointing stay. Have wanted to come here for a long time. We were placed over the road from the hotel & had a Deluxe room which was no bigger than a shoe box in the roof, you couldn’t even walk around the bed, due to the eaves. The bathroom has no door & was incredibly small. Decor was different but not incredible as I imagined! The hotel drinks were over priced & the food was just ok. Staff were pleasant. The breakfast that was included was a joke. We sat @ a dirty table for 20 minutes & weren’t even offered a drink. Another couple got up & walked out & another couple were complaining. Absolutely lovely village though!! Won’t be returning but @ least I’ve ticked it off my list.

It was our second stay here stayed in march, and enjoyed it but this time was disappointed to say least We Were next to a couple that kept slamming their door every time they were smoking in & out and talking really loud like middle of day also they talked in room with music on till 4:30 in morning my husband ended up opening door and telling them to be quiet Also breakfast was not good the first time we stayed it was continental breakfast all set on bar to help yourself not this time for some reason we sat down for a while then got fed up of waiting was about to go elsewhere ! when she eventually came out to take our order then forgot to give us our tea & coffee when we reminded her she slammed down cups like she was peed off and to top it off the drinks were barely warm ! she also took payment before we had eaten i was going to order more toast and fruit etc but as we had paid first we didn’t bother then the lady serving on our first visit to this hotel were lovely at breakfast but this visit rude and dizzy they spent most of their time in kitchen and not keeping an eye on the guests even the couple at side of us commented on the service Was disappointing stay this time hope staff improve !

We just left after a stay last night. I was a bit worried after reading a lot of the awful reviews. I think we were lucky as we had an amazing time. We booked through groupon for a birthday stay away. This included 3 course meal & champagne on arrival. When I booked up I asked for the cooker breakfast to be included & they agreed without an issue. Check in was fabulous, swift & the young girl couldn't have been more helpful. She took us personally to our room & have us a tour. As it was a wednesday night we luckily swooped in & parked right in front of the doors but apparently weekends are a nightmare! We were upgraded to a superior room. Number 36. The bath filled from the ceiling which was an unusual touch. All clean & tidy, no complaints. You don't get any tea/coffee facilities or even a box of tissues. I think these things should be included but not end of world. All staff we met were lovely. Very attentive, friendly & welcoming. We had an issue with the starter & they removed it without an issue. Everything else was lovely food wise. We got half price bottle of champagne which apparently is every Wednesday. Overall amazing & we can't wait to try the other one. Big thumbs up from us.

Where do I start!! - suite 33 stank of B-O- flys in room, windows don’t open! - tv didn’t work due to the network cable hanging out the wall -reception staff having full on conversations with one another whilst your waiting like a lemon! Zero acknowledgment! - bar service gratuity on a bill that you order from the bar!! - breakfast staff in a world of their own! Having to ask 2/3 times for a coffee & juice! In the end it’s quicker to help yourself! - on check out mentioned one or two issues with our stay, zero reaction or helpfulness! Just rude! And this is a 5* hotel! :( DONT THINK SO! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE!
