Incredible hotel! Very good food options as well as entertainment, the only bad thing was that they didn't clean our room one day

We would have scored this hotel 4.5 if it had been possible, it is a great holiday destination. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are amazing, especially Claudia in World Cafe who was there at breakfast and lunchtimes, always with a lovely smile. Special mention also to Raul and Roberto in the Mexican restaurant, they are very funny guys. The food is really good, with plenty of choice for hot and cold dishes. The pool and beach areas are well kept, a bit of entertainment here and there but not in your face. The early morning sunbed reservers were out in force, but fortunately there are lots of beds available so not a real issue. Our room was large and the bed extremely comfortable, the bathroom lovely and the shower hot, however some of the furniture and drawer fronts a bit shabby. There are a lot of mozzies around in November so don't forget your repellent. In summary, a great place to visit, and will likely return

Beach: beautiful Food: average but lots of variety Aka carte: went for 3 dinners - buffet was better Staff: overall okay. Most don’t speak any English. Resort/rooms : Very good Cleanliness/grounds keeping: very good Entertainment:Good Pros: reasonably priced Cons: Too many vendors at the beach, esp for braids, and excursions. Some guest mentioned they were approached for fun on side, when it was discovered that they were single. This was a big down side for me. Security pacing up and down, both these things notook away from the relaxation. Management needs to do something about the vendors. Would I go back. Not likely

There are flamingos, good beer, and the female receptionist who checked me in was super friendly. There is a beautiful beach and seaside. There are singing and magic shows in the reception bar at night. Every female waiter I met was very good, warm and friendly. The male waiters ranged from very nice to unfriendly.

On the first day of my stay, I first checked the toilet of the toilet. The toilet of the toilet was not cleaned and disinfected. I wiped the toilet with toilet paper, and there were yellow urine stains on the toilet paper. The coffee, coffee mate, and sugar in the room are not replaced in time every day. Lack of nightshow.

Ocean Blue is a medium size resort. Not small. Not huge like Iberostar. However it has lots of fine dining (5) onsite just like the huge ones. Their beach is perfect with lots of free cabana like shaded seating. Only surprise was our scuba shop was onsite but actual dive boat was 2 resorts down the beach at Iberostar. A 10 minute walk, no problem. This side of island a bit choppy for diving. Smoother on South side. Resort super clean, safe and friendly staff. More young families and older couples. No Spring Break teens! Highly recommend this resort for families.

First the good news: The resort is beautiful. The landscape is nice and the beach area is beautiful as well. The buffet (both at Iberostar Selection and Coral Level are good). The a la carte restaurants are nice and a level up from the buffet. Everyone working at the resort is trying to keep customers happy (thanks Yolanda for making the restaurants reservations ahead of time). The evening programs were nice. Second the not so good news: Problems with the room. After upgrading our room to the ocean from presidential suite and waiting an hour to be ready not everything worked as expected. The TV in the living room was not working and it took a couple of phone calls and a day to have it fixed. The jacuzzi which was advertised as part of the room did not work either and it took two days to have it fixed. The A/C in the bedroom could not get to a cool level during the entire stay. And finally one night the electricity went out at midnight and didn’t come back until the next morning (intermittently). No explanation or apologies from the hotel was ever provided). So plan your expectations accordingly.

So the place has its ups and downs, in short! The food in the main buffet is relatively good, some nice meals and some nights we walked around it and saw nothing we’d want to eat. They offer fish options most nights but it is a bit repetitive, the same fish most days (marlin, tilapia). The pizza in the main buffet is pretty good to be honest, really tasty. The breakfast however is fab; plenty of meat, cheese, full English if that’s what you want, fruit, yoghurt, the list goes on it really is great. We used the American Country restaurant twice with it being open later (until 11:00pm) which was handy and the ribs were pretty darn good for an all inclusive. Drinks were okay; we drink neat amaretto which was nice as it was branded but the cocktails were pretty horrific to say the least, other than the daiquiri was actually nice, along with the mimosas. We used the coffee bar once but it took 25 minutes to get served, so I couldn’t be bothered after that. The rooms were good; very spacious, plenty of storage and all have a good amount of USB ports and plug sockets. WiFi was good enough to stream live football matches which was pretty impressive. Bathroom mostly clean, some issues near the ceiling with black mould. Towels replaced daily, and the one day they didn’t I used the app to request some and they came in 15 minutes which was great. Staff are friendly in parts, some feel like they don’t really want you there. The pool is quiet and the drinks service is pretty good although it was a quiet time of year I can’t speak for peak season! Beach was nice but I can’t swim, so don’t go in the sea! All in all it was a nice place, wouldn’t rush back and I think I have stayed in better hotels over the years, we had 9 days of rain out of 11 as well so maybe that dampened the holiday!

Overall the hotel is average, would definitely recommend another RIU hotel. The rooms need refurbishing. The furniture and beds are old, contain bed bugs which made it unpleasant to sleep on, and sadly had travelled with us back on our clothes and suitcases. The power sockets don’t work at all. There are cockroaches in the room, we informed the receptionist regarding the matter and we were promised to have someone sent to use a spray, but we waited 2 days for someone to come. The hotel itself is okay, the pools could be cleaned more often, as on many occasions there was rubbish and dirt swimming in the pool. The food is avarage, the drinks are okay. No ATM in the hotel as well which can cause unnecessary hassle.

Very Good
GGuest UserIt’s a very great resort and people out there is very kind. The restaurant Skybar has a beautiful seaside view. Johanny is very nice and kind to help us check in. Something went wrong with the air conditioner but they help change another room. Very great.
GGuest UserOk. First off I don't know how anyone could give Marcos and Magdelina anything but 5 stars. They are both fluent in Spanish, English and several other languages which made everything very easy. When I wanted to practice on my Spanish Marcos would speak with me in Spanish and when I wanted to speak in English we spoke in English. If you read the other reviews, some people were confused about where they were and reviewed this place in error. I was traveling solo in the Dominican Republic as a single woman and I was slightly worried before arriving, but the second I walked into the garden late at night to check in - all my fears melted away. The family was sitting having a casual conversation with guests and the kids were playing on the ping pong table. They welcomed me like family. The most gracious couple I have ever met. In addition to being met by Marcos and Magdalena I was also met by a friendly dog which made this feel even more like home. As far as my room went, everything was clean, very spacious, had air conditioning in the bedroom, a mini fridge and some snacks and drinks in the minibar. I settled in immediately. I also ate dinner there every night because the food was so amazing! They have four different menus to choose from, including Dominican food, Caribbean and even Polish food. All of which was absolutely delicious. The service was incredible and it was a true experience that I will never forget. I even got to play air hockey with the kiddos! I almost don't want to write this review because I'm afraid I won't be able to get a reservation when I return next year! Now let's address the fact that this is not an all-inclusive resort. This is a small bed and breakfast that is run by a family. They have a recycle mentality and everything they had is reused and repurposed and I love that vibe. If you are one that wants fancy and luxury or no culture, this probably isn't the place for you. If you're a solo traveler that wants to feel like you're part of a family 1000% recommend. I will return to see them many many times. ♥️
My family and I (myself, husband and 5yr old son) stayed at Princess Family Club from June 15-21. When we arrived Nes at the front desk was so kind and welcoming. He handed me a glass of champagne and quickly got us checked in. Much appreciated after a long day of traveling. He did let us know right away that the elevator was out of order, but that they were working on getting it fixed. Pedro, helped us with our bags and let us know that there was a second elevator but it was waaay in the back. It too was out of order when we checked in but it did work the reminder of our stay. We also saw the elevator maintenance company on site everyday so they were trying to address the issue. It did get fixed on our last night so better late than never. The children’s water park with accompanying buffet and bar were amazing to have access too. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee, beer, cocktails on hand until 4pm was a life saver. My personal favorites were the chicken pastelitos. I always made sure to grab as many as I could when they were on offer. I didn’t get the name of woman who was behind the buffet but she was so kind and greeted us everyday with a beautiful smile. Nikole was our favorite waitress! Also, so kind and attentive. At the kids club my little one was not a fan, but that was mostly because he didn’t connect with the other kids (language barrier). He much preferred being in the pool. Thank the good lord for Nancy!!! She was so amazing all week. Everyday when she saw us she made sure to check on us and always made sure our son was good (and me lol). Food: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The food is the family club buffet was very tasty and seasoned well. My favorite meal was at El Pescador. The food was cooked to perfection!! My least favorite meals were at El Guacho and Il Tartufo. At El Guacho the empanadas were just okay. I could tell they weren’t freshly made like the pastelitos I had at Mordisco. At Il Tartufo, the gnocchi in pesto was WAY overcooked and the barnzino with mashed potatoes was very salty. The selections at the main buffet, La Hispañola were also tasty and there were many options for everyone in the family. The Ice Cream truck near the main lobby is so cute and the perfect ending to dinner. We had ice cream every night! In the event that you want something off the menu that’s “special” like the ribeye, it will take 45-50 mins because they do not keep it in that particular restaurant. They have to get it from the central kitchen and it can take time to order, receive and cook it. Definitely not mentioned on the menu. If you really want it, my husband recommends calling way ahead. The WiFi is not that strong and that could definitely use some improvement. The signal is great in the lobbies and restaurants but not great in our room. Seeing as how you need the app to make reservations for dinner having strong WiFi in the rooms would be helpful. Stay far far away from anyone in an orange shirt!!!! They are t
VVidal ClaramonteIt has been a pleasant stay. The customer service provided by the hotel has been satisfactory in general. The all-inclusive offer could be improved from my point of view. And for that price it could have included the transfer. Improvable facilities, especially the gym, which is not suitable for this hotel, is very small and inaccessible, it seems like a maze to enter. And the spa is also very poor and not even included in the offer of the all-inclusive package with a superior room. When in Spain 90% is included both services, transfer and spa. Great hotel, great chain, but my face of satisfaction for some other things remains indifferent for that reason... The variety in the food buffet was not too much either... it is compensated by the customer service and the environment of virgin beaches. Then a detail is the overweight in terms of street vendors outside and inside the enclosure...even with the massages...
Punta Cana Princess STOPPED IN TIME ! This is my seventh trip to the Dominican Republic in the last 20 years. Tourism is becoming more massive and the quality is falling. I love the Dominican people, their generosity and friendliness. As the quality of services is falling, the friendliness of the staff is not always enough to satisfy customers. The lack of training and leadership among the staff at the various hotels and resorts is very clear. The Punta Cana Princess is a very small resort and it would seem simple to keep quality under control at a high level... unfortunately this is not the case at the Punta Cana Princess. I even wondered if they had given up on doing more and better. I have no reason to say that it's a wasted vacation spot, but I left with the feeling that everything is done with minimal energy, minimal enthusiasm, minimal leadership, minimal effort, minimal customer focus, minimal glamour and where the notion of going the extra mile doesn't even exist. (See attached photos) Beach and pool: The beach is very beautiful and the area has little seaweed. The beach chair area is small and very poorly looked after. It's very dirty and the sun beds are old and dilapidated. The straw is rotten and full of termites and other worms that cause many bites on the legs. The pool is large and in urgent need of maintenance (see photos). There are very few sun umbrellas and there is hardly any shade around the pool. Gardens: Perhaps the strongest and most pleasant point of the resort as the maintenance and cleanliness is exemplary and the spaces very large and green. HI-FI: (See photo) Ridiculous service. Impossible in 2024 they want to charge for a terrible service when the free service is not available 90% of the time. The speed delivered 10Mb is completely out of our time. Is the leadership of this hotel asleep? Animation: Basically non-existent. The Punta Cana Princess is for adults only and is actually frequented by older guests who are perhaps looking for calm and quiet. Anyone looking for parties and lots of entertainment shouldn't choose this resort. The entertainers have no ability to create empathy and there are embarrassing moments when you see the entertainers asking people with a lot of pressure to participate in the few beach and pool animations. I observed that they treat older people in the same way as they would twenty-year-olds which makes communication with customers very difficult. Rooms: Very large and with an interesting design. Excellent cleanliness. Fridge stocked with drinks without fail. The furniture is in urgent need of maintenance, as are the metal fittings and bathroom fittings (see photo). No problems with the air conditioning in my room. There are only two electrical sockets, which is insufficient for me. Restaurants and bars: The bars deliver a minimal service and the staff are inexpressive and unsympathetic, as in other departments there are no smiles and sometimes not even a simple “good morning”. GGuest UserConvenient if you drive car. Very close to highway so you can easily drive to the most popular locations in North-Eastern Dominicana.
There’s nice territory near hotel’s swimming pool where you can chill and enjoy the birds singing. The breakfast is good. Stuff very friendly and helpful
JJuliette BernadetteWe had an okay trip to DR. The “hotel” is more like apartments, and people do seem to live here actually also. The rooftop pool is so awesome, and literally the best part of the place. The room is clean, but we killed probably 4-5 cockroaches in the room. Stove was all rusty. When arriving, the door didn’t lock & we were 2 women in their early 20s who are both > 130lbs. When requesting a new room, they “fixed” the door and refused to give us a new room. Scary location - we didn’t feel safe walking around at night here as women. Also, were scammed by a very nearby restaurant called “Bohio Punta Cana”. Free breakfast was awesome. No conditioner, only shampoo and “gel”? No hand soap. The shower seems to be salt water. I would honestly recommend staying on a resort if you come to DR, otherwise you might never want to come back.
We had an amazing stay at this location. Plenty of parking, with 24 hour security and private gated entrance. The breakfast is absolutely great!! I will definitely return! The heated pool is so relaxing with the outside bar area and restaurant. Rosa and Alvaro were very attentive and professional.
I went there once like in 2015 and was OK then. This saturday February 5th I booked for an overnight and I regret having booked there. At first it looked fine, because it had been recently refurbished. It rained overnight and the windows leaked, so next moring I woke up to a flooded floor. The bathroom was refurbished but with poor instalations, the hand shower leaked and the shower cabin leaked to the bathroom floor. Breakfast was horrible, everithing was cold and stale (cold mashed potatoes, cold coffe, cold fried eggs and cold dominican salami). I complained but got no reply. That place sure is on my NO GO LIST.
Great spot for the well travelled. Very basic accommodations across the street from the beach in an old establishment with large rooms (some with kitchenets), very nice pool in a lush tropical garden. Very clean and well maintained. For approx $50/night with full breakfast included, this is a real steal in Punta Cana. The adjoining restaurant offers a full menu and the best spaghetti bolognaise we've had in a long time ($10). Many other nearby restaurants as well. First room we had had issues with the toilet and AC but was promply replaced. Suggested improvements... A smile costs nothing and can make a world of difference in the perception of service levels. Also glasses in the rooms would be an inexpensive bonus.
