We had a really really unpleasant stay. The staff at the front desk is so rude and disrespectful! On several occasions they managed to handle everything to the highest inconvenience of the customers, for us and other hotel guests we talked to. We cannot recommend it at all. The hotel itself and the rooms are quite outdated. Breakfast is ok.

Our family of five stayed at the hotel drago from the 25th-30th July. Rooms. We had two rooms consisting of a double and a family room of three. We found the rooms adequate. They where very clean and spacious ( other than the three room ). Our balconies viewed the pool and you could also see the lake. Food. Breakfast was ample with good choices of cereals meats, cheeses and fruits. Fresh yoghurt and so on. ( there was also great choices for gluten free diets. Evening meal. consisted of antipasto ( plenty of choice) and a two course evening . The selection of mains were good ranging from meat to fish and vegetarian. Deserts where great and we enjoyed daily. Bar. The main bar is open 4pm until 12am. And had a great selection of drinks. A big shout out to Anna the barmaid. Fantastic worker and such a lovely person. So be patient when she’s busy she won’t miss you out. Bar lido. Is opposite the hotel. This is open 8 am-8pm daily closed Tuesdays. This is the hotels second bar. And is a lovely location on the lake. The food and cocktails are beautiful. Pool. We enjoyed the pool. There is plenty of sunbeds so no need to panic to get one. There is a balcony above the pool for serious sunbathers. Under which is the shaded part of pool ( great idea) and the gym. My only complaint would be the tiles around the pool become very slippery when wet and we witnessed a few people falling due to this. So be careful when around the pool. Air conditioning. Each room has air conditioning and runs from the hours of 6pm until 8 am in the summer season. Which was fine for us as not being in room for the majority of the day. Only complaint on the air conditioning is dining room. It gets very hot in dining room and we craved for it in the evening and this was never utilised why we were on our visit. EvenIng wear. I read a fare few posts on here about men wearing trousers for evening meal. Not once was I required to wear trousers 3/4 shorts /chinos where totally fine. Overall had a lovely holiday staying at the drago and would return.

Hotel Drago is a very basic 3 star hotel. It immediately overlooks Lake Garda and there are lovely views from the balconies of the front bedrooms if you are happy to pay a supplement for them! Being on the front though means that the road is extremely noisy and not any good if you are a light sleeper. The other bedrooms are round the side or back with very restricted views. The bedrooms are basic, uninviting, no pictures on the walls and have a very small screen TV with only one English speaking channel CNN News. I stayed for 7 nights and found this privately run hotel lacking in many ways. It appeared to me that the management are running this hotel to suit themselves and generally has an inflexible attitude to their guests. I was disappointed that I was unable to get a glass of wine in the bar or that any light snacks were offered with drinks. The only way to drink wine was by purchasing a bottle at inflated hotel prices. The restaurant was always busy with guests from coach tours and the food was very average. The waiters worked exceptionally hard to serve everyone but it sometimes took a very long time to get your food! There were very few other restaurants or bars near the hotel that were open and therefore if was difficult to go elsewhere to find proper Italian food. The Reception staff had to adhere to the rules of the hotel and, unlike other international hotels, were inflexible in their dealings with their guests. There is a definite need for training in Customer Services at this hotel! It is a shame as I always try to find the positives when I travel but sadly with this hotel there are more negatives than positives. I hope this review helps.

Just returned from a week at the Drago hotel. Had read some of the reviews on here and wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was in a great location facing the lake. Yes there is a busy road in front of it however this didn’t spoil our stay. All staff were helpful and pleasant during our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and ours had a great view over the lake. The maid came in every day, made beds and tidied up. The food was good with a great salad bar if you didn’t fancy the main menu. I do agree that air con in the dining room would be a bonus. I would recommend this hotel and would gladly return myself.

This Hotel is definitely 3*. Although it faces Lake Garda, on a busy road it is very basic. The Hotel is on part of Lake Garda where there is only a small Spar shop and 2 bars on the so called beach! Room and balcony quite large. Our room was on the side of the hotel and did not have any issues with traffic noise. TV was very small and only English Channel was CNN. Fridge was adequate, however no tea making facilities. Air Conditioning - this is in control of the management. Only switched on between 5-6.00 pm and turned off 8.00am. Therefore rooms were very hot and uncomfortable. Air conditioning was not turned on in Dining Room, therefore this made meals uncomfortable. Also Air Conditioning was not turned on in Bar area. Meals - Breakfast was continental so ok, however we had to choose our evening meal at breakfast. Menu was mainly Italian and did not cater for other nationalities.

We (David and Jennie Giacomelli) have just enjoyed a lovely week at the Drago. This was our second visit. The hotel is well situated with stunning views of Lake Garda. Would recommend the rooms with balcony and lake view. The staff are approachable, efficient and professional. Many thanks to the Hotel manager, Ane-marie and all of the staff who made our holiday so enjoyable. Can't wait to return. Thank you David and Jennie.

We stayed for 5 nights in the Hotel Drago recently. We had a room at the side but could see Lake Garda and the hotel swimming pool from the first floor. The biggest problem with this hotel is their A/C policy. When we arrived the temperature was 32C and we were told that the A/C is not switched until the end of June. With global warming etc this is a ridiculous rule. Several other guest complained as well. Reluctantly the A/C was switched on. The other problem was the receptionist. She needs to be re-trained in customer relations. The man who was either near the reception or at the mealtimes at the entrance of the restaurant was grumpy and not very helpful. When we asked him was he the manager he said NO and run away. We were there as a group (not knowing each other) and changing tables was totally out of the question. The food was good and our waiter was very nice. The girl in the bar was outstanding, helpful and friendly. This could be be an excellent hotel if the problems could be put right. We liked Lake Garda and will come back but definitely not staying at this hotel.
