The Bards Inn, BW Signature Collection by Best Western

Upon my arrival and into my room. I had gone to take a shower and had absolutely no hot water, and then when I tried to use the heater in the room that also didn't work and wasn't in working condition lastly the sink was also clogged. I had informed staff of all these issues and they had came up to see for themselves on all the issues . However they offered that they could do a different room at the time and I was already running late so was only in the room for roughly 20 mins. I showed up to my room needed to shower before I had to go get a friend and couldn't even get into a hot shower , couldn't even use a heater , nor even a full function sink. But the next day the staff told me they would be calling me back and still haven't done so. I again reached back out to them about the complimentary stay or reimbursement they had said would be offered asking the status of it and then they attempted debating that offer to me trying to back track it. Long story short they have been very difficult with this whole thing when really it's their fault in this whole issue . I've had to explain and debate with the staff numerous times now cause their tryin to defend not doing anything in attempt to make up for the issue

Bard's Inn is spread over 4 buildings, and I stayed in the main building. Acceptable motel experience. I know that other buildings have upgraded rooms. The lighting at the sink was oddly dim, which could be an issue with applying makeup or other precise tasks. The price includes breakfast that goes beyond continental. It included sausage, eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, plus the usual suspects. Sunday had fresh fruit, but Monday did not.

The room in the main building was quiet, small but comfortable, and equipped with all the basic amenities. An older and heavily used hotel that is a bit tired, the Bard's Inn provides acceptable and much more affordable accommodations conveniently within easy walking distance to downtown Ashland. All the usual Best Western amenities are--sort of--available. At the ******* rate, we were content with our stay.

The pros: Friendly staff. Decent hot breakfast. Walkable location to shops and restaurants. The downsides: 1) the place has multiple buildings (our room was across the street), so it's a tad inconvenient to go to the lobby and breakfast lounge when you're in a separate complex. (2) The room is quaint but some may consider it slightly outdated. Bottom line - As a family, we wouldn't mind staying here again.

Breakfast was not great. Bananas were old and splitting open. Powdered eggs were tasteless.

The Bard is always a great option for lodging when attending the OSF. It’s a five minute walk to all of the theatres, the area supports good food and shopping plus Lithia Park has a nice trail for a morning hike/stroll. I’ve stayed at the Bard a number of times and would choose it again in a heartbeat.

Property was just about adequate. We had to request a move to the renovated rooms after initially being assigned one of the older rooms. The renovated room was better but not by a whole lot.

Very convenient to walk to town. Larger room than most hotels. Decent breakfast. Reasonably priced.
