Transportation: Self-driving parking is convenient downstairs, but payment is more troublesome, not at the exit Hygiene: clean and bright, a lot of towels are given, but there are some bad smells in the corridor Environment: If the room is not facing the sea and the floor is not high, the scenery will be boring. The swimming pool is very small Service: Friendly service and good breakfast

The hotel is very well and centrally located at the marina. From there you can reach the city center in just a few minutes on foot and the beach is also in front of the door. As the name of the hotel suggests, the hotel basically consists of 2 types of suites: a marina view suite and the more expensive open sea view suite. For us, the marina was also a beautiful sight and the room is large and spacious. The bathtub next to the bed was honestly one of the reasons I chose this hotel and I have no regrets. The entire complex, from the street to the sea, belongs to the Melia hotel chain and is therefore “shared” with the Spa Hotel Porta Maris. However, care is taken that the breakfast is in a different room than that of the guests of the other hotel. There is also a "private" exclusive pool for the guests of the Suites del mar. The breakfast is really very good, you have a magnificent view of the sea and through the "orange machine" you have the freshest orange juice. Nespresso is also available for a good coffee - the other coffee machine for cappucino etc is a shame!! Why is there a machine with coffee and milk powder in such a hotel???? Otherwise everything according to the price. The staff is friendly and speaks good English. Parking garage costs €20 per day/night - that was too much for me, we parked for free in the area and then took a short walk to the hotel.

Amazing all round! Had the sea view suite which overlooked the pool and gave incredible views of the sea and morning sunrise, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and incredibly comfortable (think I need to look into what pillows they have as I am not sure I can live without them now)

We really wanted to like this place more than we did. It didn't start well. The entrance is up an uninviting escalator. The reception staff are friendly, but at times it appears understaffed. The suites are a nice size and clean (as expected), but there are details lacking - such as no soap tray in the shower - and very cheap loo roll. There are no tissues in the room. The sea-view balcony was unusable due to the strong winds that got up each lunchtime/afternoon - not the venues fault of course, but we opted for the sea-view and wished we'd have stuck with the Marina view. We had the half-board option, and we regretted it. The Breakfast was nice and up-to-standard, but the evening meal experience was pretty dire. The only bar in the hotel is straight off reception, and has the atmosphere of a doctors waiting room. For half board, this where we ate - with a few tables set out with place mats, cutlery etc. The food portions were tiny, and there were mostly only 2 choices per course. We didn't see any Veggie option, for example. We've attached a photo of our chocolate dessert - basically, a bowl of squirty cream! We actually used to joke about it. The last night I ordered Rice Pudding (which was off). They then took ages to serve the dessert as they couldn't find the alternative which was...wait for it...just strawberry ice-cream. The barman was not friendly, and so with the lack of atmosphere we tended to go next-door to the Alicante Melia, where the bar area was much nicer and the barman much more chatty and friendly. We are really sorry to say this, but we really don't think that this place is worth the money.

Ana was extremely welcoming - the suite was amazing, every little detail has been thought about nothing is too much trouble and the bed turn down service with the chocolate earplugs and sleep mask a really lovely touch we are thoroughly enjoying every minute of our stay.

Fabulous location for a trip to Alicante! We had a marina view junior suite which was very spacious and the bath tub overlooking the view is a lovely touch. The bed was sooooo comfortable and believe me we are fussy!! Breakfast was very nice in a fabulous location with views of the sea and never felt too rushed or crowded. Excellent range of cold meats, cheese, vegetables and eggs along with hot items and a varied selection of breads, cereals and cakes. Several juices on offer along with Cava ( you’re on holiday after all) !! Staff around the hotel are friendly and the overall hotel is spotlessly clean We had fabulous weather whilst there so enjoyed the pool on the first floor which had comfortable sun beds although it took us a while to locate the cushions for the lounger and after asking reception staff they didn’t seem to know either !? until a maintenance man was located. For info they are in a cupboard inside the sunarium next to the pool 😂 Lunch meno and room is a little pricey but only used this once during our stay as we were out and about most of the time. Will definitely return.

This hotel was great. The suites were great, freshly refurbished and netflix !! Not that we watched it much but good to have. The design of this hotel means some rooms have a narrow view from balcony but we had sunrise view which was lovely. We asked to get a top floor corner room solely for the balcony view. Big bath in the room facing sunrise view (ask for a higher floor as there is a pool on a lower floor so if you want a bath with curtains open in the morning watch out for staff or get a higher floor). Breakfast was really good, freshly pressed juice, fresh fruit good coffee and lots of choice of healthy delicious breakfast items and breads. Also if you pick corner table, you have excellent view of water on the sunrise side which is beautiful. Ambient music when we were there. Food in hotel was good too, although we found some excellent tapas places in the backstreets, inc. Chico callas. The Ocean Race museum across the road is interesting and had a lovely bar terrace for some early evening drinks and great music. We had such a great time here we will return to the hotel.

Stayed here for a week . We had a lovely big suite looking out over the marina which had 2 balconies. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday . The staff were all very friendly especially the blonde girl on reception who gave us good advice on where to visit ( can’t remember her name🙈) breakfast was good and a good choice . We never tried any other food as there were so many restaurants in Alicante to try. If I had to put a mark against the hotel it would be the lack of a fridge . There is a mini bar but it’s full with juice etc . Hotel has 2 nice pool areas but we never used them as we were out all day sightseeing. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back .

We stayed here for my birthday, & had a very pleasant stay. Our room overlooked the marina rather than a sea view, in my opinion the marina view is far more interesting (and costs less). The rooms were very clean and spacious, bed was large and very comfortable-oh and the bath in the bedroom was a great bonus! Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choice with cold meats, cheese, fish, cereals, toast, tea & coffee etc. Wifi worked well. The hotel is situated on a fairly quiet street (well it was in December), we were there when the World Cup was on and the fan park was next door but we didn't hear anything of it at all. It is not far to walk to get to the restaurants on the marina or to Alicante town centre itself. As it was my birthday I was given a bottle of bubbly by the hotel which was a lovely surprise. The hotel has a small cafe/bar on the ground floor that overlooks the sea, we had a coffee in there a few times-prices were reasonable and the coffee was decent. If you are after a hotel with entertainment this is not the place for you, if you like a peaceful stay with a clean & comfortable room I would recommend this hotel.
