Go to this camping ONLY if: 1) you are traveling with your family and you have small kids (under 12); 2) you are planning to spend most of the time at the campsite; 3) you don't mind being really overcharged for pretty much everything. Indeed, for families with small kids and a large budget, this place is fine. The water by their beach is clean and beautiful, even though the beach is not that great; the campsite is safe and clean; there are enough amenities for children and the staff I engaged with is polite and nice. But, I don’t have small kids anymore, I don’t care to spend all my time at the campsite, and I don’t enjoy being overcharged to the point of silliness for literally everything. Therefore, after spending a week in July, I know I will not return to Baia Blu La Tortuga and here are my main reasons. The small and sad bungalow (Baia Blu model) - I have known for a while that Sardinia is an expensive destination and I knew the bungalow we booked was small. We just didn't expect it to be so small and, frankly, given the high price we paid, quite shabby and badly designed (to open the fridge door, I had to step inside the bathroom). The prior year we stayed in another small camping bungalow in Tuscany. This is just to say that we don't have problems with small places, and throughout the years we have been quite flexible with less than perfect accommodations, if they were priced fairly. Last year, for less than half of what we paid Baia Blu La Tortuga, when we arrived our bungalow had clean sheets for one queen bed and two singles, one set of towels for 4 people, a new roll of toilet paper and FREE Wi-Fi. In contrast, this Summer when we arrived at the early hours of the morning at Baia Blu La Tortuga, we found a bungalow that had none of that stuff. The first night we slept directly on the mattresses, and we fought over tissues paper when we had to use the bathroom. (FYI, at our arrival when I requested sheets and towels, we were told that the first set was already in the bungalow and included). The overpriced food & drink services – Normally the shops at any campsite are overpriced, and even here Baia Blu La Tortuga did not disappoint us. However… we did need toilet paper and a bunch of other stuff. (BTW, the closest town is Santa Teresa di Gallura, so I recommend doing your main shopping there, but it’s not always an option). What else can we charge you for? - Last year we rented four bikes for a week. We paid a fraction of what it would have cost us to do the same at Baia Blu La Tortuga, if they even had available bikes, but they didn’t. I was reminded again that it is to be expected: we are in Sardegna after all! OK. Then, we discovered that Baia Blu La Tortuga charges even for using the lounge chairs by their pool…! Now, why is that? Isn’t Baia Blu La Tortuga overcharging me already for my dinky bungalow, the sheets, the towels, the wi-fi, etc., so that they can afford to have more free lounging chairs by the pool? Finally…Check

Overall a pleasant family stay in a decent camping house (Baia Lux) but given the price and 4 star ranking I would have expected higher quality of food offer (1 restaurant in camping is good only for pizza, other meals especially fish of really low level plus location and furniture is also not great - all plastic) and facilities (kids play area is ok but would need some renovation / same as sport facilities very old). Staff is great and friendly. Swimming pools are very new and nice but lack of free sitting areas oblige to stay on grass or pay to rent sun beds for the whole day, not ideal given we usually like to spend only some hours there the rest being at sea. Sea in front of camping: nice and clean but almost no sand only little stones and deep in few meters, so ideal for snorkeling or water sports not small kids or walks on the beach. Camping houses are too close to each other, not much space. Outside camping not much to do without long drives. Check in/out timings are also not ideal (after 17/before 9).

We visited the campsite as a family of 5 for 4 nights at the end of August. Pros: - nice location, just by the beach - there are plenty of different facilities that families will enjoy, games room, play park and a good pool complex - beach bar is lovely Cons: - there is NO shade around the pool and if you want a sun bed you have to pay €15 (I’ve been to loads of campsites around Europe and we’ve never had to pay for a sunbed in over 10 years) You aren’t allowed to take your own umbrella or sunshade either - you have to pay a ‘Clubcard’ fee of €1.50 per day per person for the animation and facilities even if you don’t use them - not optional - there is NO toilet paper or soap in the campsite toilets (not very COVID friendly!) - campsite shop and restaurant extortionate prices eg - €17 euros for a plate of pasta in the restaurant/ €5.90 for a 4 box of cornetto style ice creams On the whole, we wouldn’t return or recommend even though the location was nice.

We left with Vacances select Site is pleasant, the beach too. Pleasant swimming pool. But: Bungalow Vacance select piled up on top of each other at the end of the campsite, at the edge of a road and in the sun, not under the pines No water in the bungalow for 2 days... no compensation and poor reception from the staff camping Very expensive for the service obtained

After reserving a plot at the campsite 6 months in advance, when we arrive to check in they leave us out at 2:00 p.m. with 35 degrees in the sun, we tell them what happened and they tell us that there is a rule and that from 1:00 p.m. at 3:00 p.m. that you cannot enter, a rule that was not previously reported. When entering the bathrooms of the campsite, SURPRISE!! There is no toilet paper, no handwashing soap, or anything to dry your hands, but not carelessly. THERE IS NO IN ANY OF THE CAMPSITE We go to the swimming pool, and the slides for children are closed in high season. The hammocks and umbrellas of the pool, you have to pay separately. After this and paying 117 euros per day for a plot, we are going to claim our money to be able to change campsites and they tell us that we can leave but that they will not return our money. All this in a very bad way, they do not refer to a telephone and an email, and after 24 hours we have not offered a response. DO NOT ADVANCE THE MONEY IN ANY RESERVATION, ONCE PAID, THEY DO NOT OFFER A RESPONSE. THE QUALITY THAT THEY PROMISE ON THEIR WEB PAGE IS NOT REAL

Nice swimming pool but 15€ for the two deckchairs with parasol I don't really understand it's the first time I've seen this. The jacuzzis only work at certain very short times, the water aerobics classes are not water aerobics but barely fun animation. The mobile home pitches are very tight and our bungalow which runs along the road to the next campsite with constant passages all night long was extremely noisy and not restful. At this price it is acceptable limit. Very expensive supermarket and borderline friendly restaurant staff. Expensive and not great pizzas. Basically expensive and not great.

There is a great swimming pool (we really didn't have many people so it was very good) and the beach is good. The entertainment is fun and our children were able to participate. It's a very large campsite, during our period there weren't many people but in the middle of summer I imagine there are a lot of people.
