Caramel Grecotel Boutique Resort

We had an amazing amazing week at The Caramel Grecotel. The hotel is beautiful, the food was the best we have eaten in Greece and the staff are all amazing. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the pool and spa are both excellent. A huge credit must go to the staff who were so friendly and kind and made us feel so comfortable and at home. Special thanks must go to Konstantina who made being on holiday with coeliac disease so easy and stress free and also for arranging a beautiful gluten free birthday cake for my husband. I will recommend the hotel to everyone and will definitely be visiting again!

The Caramel Grecotel is an ideal place for a romantic or family vacation. We have already come 3 times and it is always a great pleasure. the quality of the hotel is impeccable, the food, the staff, the very good atmosphere as well as the kids club are the reasons why we love this hotel. Excellent 5 star hotel that has all the little attention to detail things you look for in a luxury holiday. Great staff, food and accommodation. We had two junior suites with sea view and it was bliss pulling back the curtains each morning. Lovey it!

Upon our arrival at Room 203, we were immediately captivated by the expansive, sunlit space, accented by delightful blue tiles and complemented by a generous balcony. It set the stage for an unforgettable retreat. The resort paints a picturesque tapestry reminiscent of a quaint Mediterranean village. Every nook and cranny whispers an invitation - whether it's the secluded spots beckoning for relaxation or the elegant library, complete with card tables, waiting for quiet moments of leisure. The beach, a serene expanse of golden sand, is dotted with ample parasols, ensuring shade when needed. Securing sunbeds was never an issue, and the courtesy of the 30-minute "move and lose" rule was universally upheld. On the rare windy days, the sea could become a bit restless, and the rocky seabed warrants the use of water shoes. These are small quirks in an otherwise idyllic setting. At Caramel, it's evident that the heartbeat of the place is its dedicated staff. Their unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction shone through, from the vigilant beachside attendants to the amiable buffet team. A heartfelt nod to Soula, Constantina and Oggy - their attention to detail, genuine warmth, and consistent kindness was wonderful. Culinary delights awaited us daily. Mornings were a gourmet's dream, with a buffet breakfast range from succulent pancakes and crispy bacon to a vibrant selection of fruits, seeds, salads, and more. As dusk fell, the resort transformed. Dining on the terrace, with the pool shimmering under the lights and gentle music from live bands wafting up from below, encapsulated the essence of holiday luxury. While the allure of Caramel was compelling, we did embark on a few adventures to the old town, a brief 15-minute cab journey away. We indulged in a bit of history at the archaeological museum, enjoyed the delectable Greek biscuits from Nyktaph Bakery, and later unwound at the Kai Beach Bar. A note of caution - the water at Kai seemed a tad murky, so it might be best enjoyed from the shore. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the phenomenal team at Caramel. Thanks to you, our stay was woven with moments both sweet and enduring - a truly unparalleled escape.

What a fabulous experience! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The great service starts at check in and just gets better and better. We loved our stay. The resort is very clean and well maintained. Also as there are only 69 rooms even though the hotel was fully booked it never really looks that way. Always enough sunbeds at the pool and on the beach. The breakfast is out of this world. Everything is fresh and delicious. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

It started in reception, the magic of this place. We arrived late at night so we’re offered sparkling wine and water along with moist towels to freshen us up. Registration was completed on the terrace and we were advised we had been upgraded to a sea view bungalow with its own jacuzzi . The accommodation (405) was fabulous . The hotel is beautiful day and night and is laid out like a little village. All the staff epitomise customer service and insist on helping you in every way. Breakfast was on the terrace every morning and included an extensive buffet as well as some al a carte items. Where else can you have a clarinetist serenade you over your breakfast. We did not have dinner at the hotel as we had planned to eat out in local restaurants during our stay to get the local atmosphere. I thought the hotel buffet dinner was slightly expensive at 50 euros pp. We got a cab into the old town a few times and it is certainly worth the trip. It takes about 20 minutes and cost 13 euros.There are several reasonable restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The resort has its own beach and cabanas that can be hired for the day and also a beach bar where you can get drinks and meals if required. If you rent a beach bed they provide fresh fruit and soft drinks as well. Many people dine around the pool in the evening and sometimes live musicisions are on hand to entertain. It is certainly a beautiful setting. Life guards are on duty by the pool and the beach. It was painful to have to leave and come back to the real world but thank you to everyone at the hotel for a marvellous week.

We sailed from Santorini to Crete for the tail-end of our Greek island vacation. We were told by our driver on our way to Caramel that it is the best hotel in Crete and boy was he right. We were greeted by the wonderful Katerina, the concierge (who also helped me via email prior to our stay). She told us we were getting her favorite room, and she was also right! This hotel lived up to its reputation and our expectations in every way. The complimentary buffet breakfast was spot on and the dinner options were great as well. The entire staff was extremely friendly and attentive. It is located on the best part of Rethymno beach. We would definitely stay here again!

This is the first time ever that we have returned to a location and a hotel as we always want to explore new places. We had such an amazing time last year that we decided to come back and we were so glad we did. The hotel team are simply amazing especially the breakfast and housekeeping team. I had my birthday whilst I was here and a cake was put in our room - just another fabulous surprise. We went to the Agreco farm this time and it was such an experience. In short, I would recommend this hotel to everyone!!!!
