We booked the Melia Purosani directly through their website for a number of stays as it provided a good value price which included a 10-minute massage per room booking, a discount on food, and a room upgrade. On our first stay, we were upgraded to a ”Level” room on the sixth floor which came with Level Lounge privileges including afternoon tea. Having re-booked for three separate nights our expectations were that we would receive the same benefits. It seems our first stay involved a better-than-usual upgrade and we were very embarrassed to be turned away from the Level Lounge on our next stay - despite being in a Level Lounge room. Live and learn! The hotel is in good condition, the rooms are well-presented. Reception staff is courteous and helpful, and so too was the concierge at the Level Lounge who ”righted” the embarrassing situation we faced. The gardens and pool area are tropical, leafy, and well-maintained. Wi-Fi was adequate, but not super fast/ The property is within easy walking distance of Jalan Malioboro and other local attractions. I have rated the hotel's less-than-excellent restaurant El Patio separately. Truth be told, service and afternoon tea in the Level Lounge was superior to the restaurant. FromSGD 88

This is a fancy place in a historical building in walking distance from the historical city centre. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the cuisine is excellent and the breakfast buffet wowed us. Food is served i.a. on an inner court, which is peaceful and quiet, away from the street noise. The pool, lays protected, and doesn’t have direct sunlight as of noon, which comes handy since these are the tropics. FromSGD 80

I booked a 5 star hotel to ensure there are the full facilities. When I arrived the pool and gym were under maintenance. I complained to Trip as they and the hotel should inform guests of this when they book. When Trip raised this with the hotel, the hotel refused to offer any level of compensation. So for this reason, they receive a low score. I also told Trip they need to change their T&C’s. FromSGD 48

Enjoyed stay here throughly. Very pleasant service staff and facilities are all new. Room was really comfortable and everything worked really well. Sofa can be a little old and stained but not a problem cos we don’t sit on it as much. Can’t stay much of the location as we just took a cab everywhere but lots of gojek food options around. Staying in this Hotel is one of the best experience I had. Name of this hotel become EMERSIA HOTEL MALIOBORO. Location of this hotel is strategic, walking distance to Malioboro Street, Tugu Train Station & Tugu Yogya Monument. Good option to explore Malioboro area ,to avoid traffic jam and spend more time if you want to go to Malioboro street. Room is huge (booking deluxe room) , clean , & room facilities also good.Food during breakfast delicious & have many option. Good service from this hotel crew (reception, waitress & technician) , they are very attentive. I have a problem with hot water, and they are following up immediately. Minor thing from my side : because Im smoker , they dont provide smoking room for deluxe room type.This hotel only provide smoking room for superior room type. Maybe in the future this hotel can provide smooking for all room type . Overall staying in this hotel is highly recommended. Thank YouFromSGD 27

It's an upscale hotel. The staff are very welcoming and nice of them to upgrade us to Deluxe Premiere Double room. Bed is very comfortable and air conditioning is good (esp. for the hot weather). Cleanliness can be improved (eg toilet). Our room is right in front of the lift but we were not being disturbed by noises.
Breakfast spread is good!
Quite a few eateries around the hotel. Otherwise, taking Grab taxi to places is convenient and reasonable fares.FromSGD 48

I had an excellent stay at the hotel. With a very affordable price I got such high quality facilities such as hot water, tv with premium channels, super cold AC, comfortable bed, a very strategic location. The staff were also very friendly, helpful, and approachable. They made it very easy for me. I’ll definitely going to stay here again in my future trip. Recommended! FromSGD 26

Good location within 2 minutes walk to Malioboro Street, which is extremely popular with the locals. We stayed at this Novotel because of rave reviews mostly in Google and other sites that Malioboro street is “the place” in Jogja. But don’t expect much if you are an international /western tourist. I will write a separate review on Malioboro Street next. This review is about Novotel. It is a nice hotel. An ideal location to get started in Jogja if you’ve never been here before. We arrived late on our first night, which means we had only 1 full day in this area, which we found is more than enough in this area. I will explain why in my Malioboro Street review. We like everything about this hotel. The staff, the service, the room, the rooftop bar and swimming pool located on level 10. The best is the price. Great value for money for the 2 nights inclusive buffet breakfast, which was 2,555,501 rupiah booked through Accor. But don’t expect much from the buffet breakfast. It was limited in choice. Mostly cater for Indonesian. Good enough for a short stay.FromSGD 87

Previously more harm and willing to help. Now very strict with new rules. For example:
1. Children only get free breakfast if under 5 yo.
2. In pandemic previously we can ask for breakfast in the room with vary food. Now very strict.SOLD OUT
