Very friendly guests. The rooms are convenient, very different in size and comfort. Firstly in a nice double room with quite small bathroom and later in a small single room with large bathroom. Unfortunately, the shower was missing on the bathtub, but on the wall was a unconflicted stick. However, for a weekend, it was quite enough. And the friendliness of the staff there made a lot of bet again.

Absolutely marvelous! I have traveled to 38 countries in my life and have stayed in countless hostels around the world. Hostel Aachen is not my all-time favorite - but it is pretty close! I took a weekend getaway to Aachen while living in Germany. I booked Hostel Aachen because it was a good price and the location was well-reviewed. I quickly learned that this place is a hidden gem! The staff are EXCEPTIONAL - complimentary and responsive! I was given a private room, free of charge. Towels were provided to me at no extra cost. The room was clean and had a large window. The showers and bathrooms were EXTREMELY clean (not just for a hostel, but for a hotel). Facilities were also well-maintained. The building also features a lovely patio area for eating and smoking and a very large lounge area, with a kitchen (fully stocked with tea, coffee, utensils, and dishes), a large, 20-person dining table, a small kitchen table, and even a work desk and lounge love seats. The amenities are wonderful, but the best part is the staff. I was fully accommodated my entire stay and wanted for nothing - my questions about places to eat, means of travel, sites to see, and things to do were all answered promptly and with great detail. And the staff is simply simpatico. I extended my stay an extra day! Oh, and the location is ridiculous! You can walk 10 minutes to the main square or take a bus 5 minutes or a scooter for 3 minutes. And the train station is literally across the street! Unbelievable! If anything, There is a train station across the street, which means trains do pass by in the night. But I was able to sleep with no problems. This just may be a concern for people with trouble sleeping.

Nice hotel at a good central location. Our room was spacious although quite warm (no airco). Shower facilities were ok, but the toilet space was extremely cramped. The bedding was not 100% clean. The service at the reception was very friendly. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice, omelettes or fried eggs on order, with super service by Abdallah. No parking, you have to put your care in one of the (very busy) parking garages nearby.

A no-frills, nicely decorated, well located, clean hotel. Nothing bad to say (except that a more thorough take at cleaning the upper shelf of the wardrobe would be welcome). But everything else was really optimal. I did not need to interact with the staff at reception during my stay, so I can not report on that. The girl who checked me in was efficient and polite, and that was all the contact I had with the reception. I spent interesting evenings at the bar tasting several gins of their rich gin menu, and the two waiters I interacted with were very helpful and professional. I had a ”room with a view”, not the lowest price-range, and it was perfect for one person, although it was a double. The bed was indeed double, but the closet would have been on the small side for two people staying more than a couple of nights. If I have to point something out is the lack of a light curtain in addition of the thick, darkening curtain that the room had. If you did not want to be seen by neighbourghs in the building in front, the only option was to close the curtain, which was very effective in darkening completely the room. This at midday seemed a bit too radical. But the summary of my experience is that I will come back to this hotel if ever again in Aachen.

I have stayed in this hotel quite a number of times and consistently the quality of my stay has been high. This time was no exception. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the bathroom were spotless and had everything I needed. The WiFi was complimentary and worked really well. The signal was strong and stable. There was one thing that I'd like to see changed though. You need to register every day, but the login process is confusing. After you've agreed to the terms and conditions and clicked on the button to get the free WiFi, another window pops up and it wants to know things from you. This is however not needed to sign up for the WiFi and seems to be purely for marketing purposes. By clicking on the right link, you can skip it. The room was not all that large, but the space was definitely adequate. There was more than enough space for my clothes and other things. The water boiler plus complimentary tea and coffee was convenient, just as the very large safety deposit box that easily fit my 15” laptop, plus other belongings. The work desk was small and especially with a regular chair, not suitable to work at for a longer period of time. The TV was small and had a limited set of channels, but that was not so relevant for me. A detail, but really useful, is that there are sufficient power outlets and at the right place. This makes it very easy to charge your devices. The bathroom was on the small side, but fully functional and the water pressure from the showerhead was more than sufficient. Only minor thing that I've noticed in the past too, is that it requires some engineering creativity to keep the showerhead in the right position. This should definitely be improved. It is annoying and unnecessary. Last, but not at all least, was the breakfast buffet. I really enjoyed it. This is mostly a continental style buffet, but with an amazing amount of choices, including various types of fresh and very tasty breads, yoghurts, fruits, cheeses, juices, cereal, etc. This is a great example to other hotels how to serve a healthy, yet delicious breakfast.

Even if there was nothing to do with the accommodation itself, I still have our stay in a imaginably bad memory. Without being informed about dinner times, we arrived at night a few minutes after 19.00 hour to learn that the booked dinner is unfortunately no longer available. (The following day the dinner times were then open from 18.00 clock and 19.15 clock!) Then the dinner was no longer cancelled. And the request to get a lunch package next day was also rejected. Citated: ”They should pay that then.” That fits in the picture. For our reservation for 1 adult and 3 children was calculated for 4 adults. This was changed only on demand. But this jugi seems to me to have their financial experience. Incomes to give more interest than satisfied customers. There then also the wishes of the reception for a ”nice stay” after check-in are a little perverse. We will certainly not see each other again ...

About 7 minutes walk from the train station, the surrounding is relatively quiet, about 15 minutes walk to the Aachen Cathedral. The rooms are clean, the triple rooms are large, the prices are very cheap, and the price is very high. Check out the box as long as you put the key into the door. The elevator is relatively small, probably only the same three people.

Visited Art Hotel Aachen Superior due to a work meeting hold in Aachen in mid July! The location is very quiet and not far from the centre ! We had a big almost an apartment size & style room with a huge balcony all around the room! The service is more than ok with a good functionality at the front desk! They have a pool indoors but during our stay didn’t see really anyone making use of it! I reckon , probably because is not very inviting! Normal good breakfast and polite staff! If there is another time needed to visit Aachen again I would stay at the same Hotel!!!

I spent three nights at the Hotel Regence, Aachen, in March 2024. I took a Queen Room on the fourth floor, which was fine for a short break. The multi-lingual staff were excellent, attentive, engaged and professional. Although the hotel does not offer an evening restaurant service, the staff recommended an Italian restaurant in town for supper. The hotel breakfast buffet was superb. Wifi is available throughout the hotel. I would happily stay in this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days while helping our son move to Aachen from a different part of Germany. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient as it is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, and about 15 minute walk to both our son's new apartment in the Frankenberger neighborhood and also to the old town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Panayoti who spoke very good English and explained all the charges on our hotel bill clearly. The breakfast offered a variety of healthy choices and fresh baked goods and was reasonably priced. The hotel felt very safe both in terms of Covid precautions and security at night time when returning late. The only thing I felt was not quite up to my expectations were the flat pillows and firm beds. I prefer fluffier pillows and a softer bed, but it was comfortable enough for the length of our stay. When I return to Aachen, I will not hesitate to book a stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is a basic low price hotel with no added extras. However if you just need somewhere cheap to stay for a short break this is ideal. The room we had was basic with minimal furniture and no tea/coffee, fridge or safe. Nevertheless it was quite spacious with a good bathroom, comfortable bed and clean. The breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice but not fantastic. Use one of the nearby cafes instead. The location is very good - almost opposite the station, and only about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the city centre.

I stayed for over a week at the Novotel in Aachen while on a business trip. The hotel is ideally situated next to a great shopping area. Parking is super easy and you need to use our card key to access the elevator. The same card key access is required to enter the lobby after hours. Seems very secure and safe. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. My room as an ”executive” room on the 4th floor, was on a corner and had floor to ceiling windows. What I liked: - Very quiet room - Comfortable bed - Mini-fridge with window and free daily drinks and snacks (5 Item selection including wine and beer) - Great desk setup with memory foam chair - Good TV with external HDMI input - Real glasses in the room - Bathroom wall mounted soap dispenser + other amenities - Nespresso machine with pods and cream To improve - WiFi, even though i was on the premium plan, the signal was weak to moderate - No USB ports - Water pressure just ok - Bathroom sink has not much counter space - AirCon only goes so low (perhaps 24/25?) as other reviewers have noted TIP: If you arrive on a Sunday to Aachen, almost everything is closed, however, towns in Netherlands are as close as a 20 minute drive and most stores are open from noon on Sunday

The room was very clean and tidy. Although the European hotel was a bit small, the room was fully functional and clean. Because it was late at night, the hotel staff was off work at night. The hotel sent an email in advance to explain how to get the key and how to enter the room in detail. I checked in smoothly at 11:30 in the evening. We stayed at the Mercure Aachen Europaplatz for one night in May 2023. This was an overnight stop on our Journey from the UK to Bonn. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the motorway and with easy access to Aachen. Check in was quick and very efficient. The staff where extremely helpful and pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We had 2 rooms including a disabled room. Both where very well laid out. Clean, Functional and very comfortable. The disabled room was a wet room style which was perfect for my sister with whom I was travelling. Plenty of space, and well laid out. The only downside if anything was that the bed was a little lower then expected. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was very enjoyable, the staff extremely helpful especially with getting a table set up for a wheelchair and overall seemed to be good value. Breakfast was included in the morning but had very limited choices however this may have been as we arrived close to the finishing time. Overall this was a very nice hotel with easy access, good parking, friendly staff, nice rooms and offered good value. I would not hesitate to stay here again if i had the opportunity.

The photos on the website were cleverly deceptive and did not give a true picture of the shabby reality. We booked a double room and were given a twin. On the road side the noise was too great to have the window open but with no air conditioning the rooms were unbearably stuffy. The garage was not suitable for anything other than a tiny car, but there was a carpark nearby. Not a very salubrious part of the town.

The hotel is located in the heart of the historical old town of Kornlimmenster. The room was pleasant and functional. Breakfast was completely in order for such a small hotel. Even if it is something that is the charm of past times, it is recommendable. You should book a room to the courtyard.
