Travelodge Caernarfon

Hotel and bedroom spotless. Great bed and bedding. Staff very pleasant. Very quiet. Dropoff point distance from hotel entrance can be a problem in case of rain or for people with reduced mobility. Also no clear indication that the drop off point is outside the Premier Inn hotel. Much cheaper than the above hotel for a single person.
Premier Inn Caernarfon

Stayed in five different Premier Inns in the last two weeks, and this one was by far the most in need of attention. The room was well worn and in need of updating. The carpet was past its best, and the bathroom showed signs of wear and tear. An unpleasant odour came the air con/heating system, which did eventually dissipate. The Wifi needs serious attention as it didn't work from our room for the duration of our stay. Staff members are aware that this is an ongoing problem but couldn't do anything to improve it. It's disappointing, as this has clearly been an ongoing problem over years, judging by other reviews on here. I also reported the problem to PI using their complaints form but have yet to receive a reply (from 10 days ago). If you were a business person, you couldn't rely on the wifi (free or ultimate) for work purposes. On the plus side, the staff team we encountered were all welcoming and friendly.
Ty Glyndwr Bunkhouse, Bar and Cafe

Excellently located within a 5-mins walk to Caernarfon Castle, and 5-7 mins to walk to the local bus terminus, if you're relaying on public transportation to get around. Although there is no self-catering / kitchen available to guests, this venue does offer a full continental breakfast to guests (eg. cereals, porridge, fruit & juice, toast, tea/coffee, pastries) - which is more than ample to get off to a good start in the morning. Staff are friendly & welcoming. The bunk beds a very comfortable & widely spaced; although the mattresses are a little springy, I still managed a good sleep. Given the dorms are mixed between males & females, I'd highly recommend a good pair of ear plugs, as the snoring can get a little much at times. This venue also offers live music on Friday evenings - so, it can get a little loud, although the music ends by midnight.
Victoria House Room Only Accommodation

We stayed for 2 nights in a Superior King room on the first floor and had an excellent stay. The room was very well equipped, super comfy bed, large bath room with all the amenities, a well stacked welcome tray and with Jan, the proprietor, a wonderful host. When we arrived by car Jan asked wether we were lucky to find a parking space in Church St. (which we were on both days, right across the B&B) and took her time to give us a tour of the house and garden. Everything was explained to us and we received good recommendations about places to eat (try the Caernarfon Tandoori, which is very good!). In the mornings she was assisted by Michelle, who waited the tables - always with a smile and time for a little chat. Breakfast was very tasty, we could order what ever we liked from the extensive menue - esp. the Welsh Rarebit was delicious. The B&B is situated very close to the castle, marina and many pubs and restaurants. We definitely will stay here again when back in Wales!

YHA Snowdon Llanberis

Group of 10 arrived on the 24th May - 26th The journey to the hostel was bumpy but the views were worth it. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the car parking spaces. We met a lovely lady who greeted us in, explained facilities & reminded us that the car parking spaces are limited but free of charge. Facilities - The building is clean, spacious and well ventilated. The rooms are small and basic, however it’s extremely clean. Communal kitchen & lobby area made it feel super homely. Toilet & bathroom are separate, super basic but clean! Breakfast - the continental breakfast was basic. Three cereal options, bread & mini croissants. Yogurt and fruit. Can’t go wrong, bargain. The full English was overpriced, I’m a vegetarian so felt the options were limited. The coffee was fantastic. Clean and lovely. Bar - plenty of cold drinks available. Location - fantastic. 6 minute walk to local shops, 10 mins to Snowdon. Perfect location. Overall I’d return. Thank you for making our stay perfect. We travelled from Slough & completed the Snowdon challenge on behalf of our children’s ward so we are very glad we had a pleasant stay. Amina Bostan
