C'est à l'occasion de mon anniversaire que nous avons déjeuné au Clos Saint Eloi à Thiers le 7 janvier 2024. Malheureusement, nous avons été dessus par l'ensemble des plats. Nous avons pris le menu à 67.5 euros et 4 verres de vins à 8 euros. En entrée j'ai choisis le fois gras maison et mon compagnon un plat veggie. Et là le premier choc, je n'ai eu en guise d'entrée non pas une tranche de fois gras mais une petite mise en bouche de fois gras accompagné de 3 abricots, d'une cuillère à café d'oignon et deux mini brioches. TRES TRES LIGN=HT ET SURTOUT PAS BON. Je ne pense vraiment pas que le fois gras était fait maison!!! Mon compagnon lui a apprécié son entrée mais l'a trouvé trop salée. Après c'était simple à préparer car uniquement des légumes. Deuxième plat pour tous les deux un WORK de Boeuf. Concernent les légumes ça allait, par contre concernant le boeuf, il était en minuscules morceaux et très dur. Après j'ai pris le riz de veau, et là encore un choc. Une fine tranche de riz de veau (alors que dans les autres restaurant il est coupé en morceaux)avec un tout petit peu de sauce, une rondelle de carotte et une morille. C'était vraiment pas bon, je me suis forcée à manger ce plat mais aucun plaisir. Mon compagnon lui a pris une entrecôte 300 g avec frites et toute petite salade. L'entrecôte était bonne par contre les frites pas assez cuites alors qu'il n'y a vraiment rien de plus simple à faire!!! Plus le plateau de fromage où on nous a servis de minuscules morceaux de fromages!!! Et le dessert une ile flottante à l'ancienne. En découvrant le plat qui était jaune très très clair j'ai déjà eu un pressentie et en le gouttant j'ai été dégouttée. Il ne s'agissait en aucun cas d'une crème anglaise à l'ancienne et non plus faite maison. Je pense qu'elle a été acheté chez Métro!!!! Mon compagnon lui a pris une panacotta, et c'était vraiment pas bon non plus!!! Et enfin nos 4 verres de vin, le vin n'était pas bon, il était vinaigré!!! Je suis choquée car ce restaurant n'en n'est pas un et surtout extrêmement choquée car sur internet il y a beaucoup d'avis positif. Soit le chef a changé soit toutes les personne qui témoignent ne cuisinent pas et ne savent pas reconnaître la bonne cuisine soit les témoignages sont faux. UNE CHOSE EST SURE JE NE RECOMMANDE EN AUCUN CAS CE RESTAURANT.

We arrived late on a Saturday night from Beaune . The hotel staff were busy serving the people on the restaurant which I can only describe as greasy and food was being handled then hands wiped on a dirty towel when dealing with hotel guest arrivals . When we saw our first room our immediate thoughts were to go and find another hotel , the bed had been changed and the room had been given a wipe down bit the bathroom walls and floor were filthy and there was grime and grease on every surface which made all our skin crawl . It smelled of our tyres and damp , was right by a smelly drain which don't help and the Tarmac was ingrained with dirt and grime . We then went in search of another room and got given a key to another room in exactly the same condition . We tried one more time and got given a key to an acceptable room , bathroom was cleanish , but had two single beds and decided to make do, with our daughter sleeping between us on the same bed as couldn't risk her sleeping on the floor . We then went into Thiers which was once a thriving town , I say was !! Now it's a sad French provincial town with no real restaurants except from a fabulous pizzeria on the flat area below , Thiers is perched on a hill , where we had a very entertaining meal . Avoid Thiers though as it has very little to offer and the hotels and restaurants are run down and dirty , even the crescendo restaurant in the ****** supermarket was beyond disgusting !! Days old food encrusted on the floor and the smell !!
