Auberge Alpine Inn

Auberge Alpine Inn is a raw diamond that my family and I had the chance to discover recently. We absolutely loved everything about this place: 1- The location. Only 1 hour from Montreal and 5 mns from St-Adèle downtown, yet very quiet and surrounded by an abundance of trees and nature. 2- The owners ( the gentleman and the lady at the front desk were so welcoming) 3- The lobby, with the bord games, those vintage telephones that make you time travel, the beautiful restaurant that gives an old classy European vibe, with the music from the 70. 4- The free continental breakfast which is so generous ( very good coffee, boiled eggs, cereal, toast creton, bagel, cream cheese, marmelade, fresh fruits, fresh orange juice), just amazing !! 5- The garden and its fountain and grass and picnic table looks like an impressionist painting 6- The rooms with their jaccuzi and fireplace. We can't wait to be back again!

Everything about our stay was perfect. I went with my 81 year old mom as an early mother's day gift. We used the spa services, outdoor baths, sauna, chaise 58 and breakfast. We had a fabulous server (Chris) from chaise 58 who was simply outstanding!! A total sweetheart to us and especially to my elderly Italian mom! He even said a few words in Italian which made her evening. Reading the reviews, i was initially apprehensive. I noticed some people looking at the paint peeling job at the bottom of the outdoor baths...that being said-it's not a spa like others that are available with many amenities BUT it was excellent. there were options on different temperatures (95 degrees, 103 and 60) , dry sauna inside (i saw an outside one also but we didn't go) and a steam room. the breakfast buffet was exquisite and offered a great variety of fresh, wholesome options. there was also an omelette maker :) Fruit galore, endless cereal options, granola , hazlenuts, cheese, cottage cheese, chia, breads, etc. what i did find REALLY expensive but it's amerispa was the massages. i literally wrote/called on the thursday to book a therapeutic massage for my mom and i. They booked a detente (relaxing massage) which i only found out after they called me in but it was too late as my mom was already gone. the massage was good but..it was 183$ tax in for 50 ( not 60 mins) so 366$ before tip and i was sitting there waiting looking at a mother's day special at 159$ with the exact same massage PLUS a choice of leg break, paraffin glove and 25$ discount towards next purchase. instead i got the 183 $ with just massage (not the right one) ...that was NOT cool. What i do want to say about this resort is treat yourself and go. glad i went. This was not a busy period so cannot speak about capacity cited in other reviews. The staff is great and very understanding /friendly.

We decided to get away for a few days of skiing in the Laurentians, which is where we've often gone during the February Ontario Family Day break. The location at the top of a hill was great, but the hill wasn't all that challenging. However, it's extremely well situated being close to a number the smaller hills in the southern portion of the Laurentians. The price was right, and the rooms are nice, the bed comfortable, and the bathrooms have had a recent renovation. The main building was done sometime in the 60s I would think, and it still has that character to it. Nothing wrong, but it's definitely not a modern hotel. The only thing that I'd be critical about is the amount of noise that transmits from one part of the hotel to another, particularly in the two storey addition. Part of the noise was also a result of families travelling with younger children, and for some reason, they let their kids use the hallway as a race venue -- I guess to tire them out. It's not a problem of the place -- more a problem of the parents who are probably burned out from the pandemic. We also had dinner at the hotel, and it was good value, a very passable for the convenience and price. As we drive an electric car, it was also good to see that they had a number of charging spots (mostly for Teslas) - so if you do stay there, you can take advantage of the charging.
