Driving gives you more flexibility, especially if you want to visit attractions outside the city centre.
You can enter Malaysia through Woodlands Checkpoint or Tuas Second Link, depending on where you're heading. Woodlands is usually more convenient for central JB, while Tuas can be useful for destinations further west.

The new RTS Link is expected to begin service by the end of December 2026. It will connect Woodlands North in Singapore with Bukit Chagar next to JB Sentral, creating another rail option between the two cities.

A one day JB trip works best if you stay around JB city centre instead of trying to cover too many distant attractions.
Make your way through immigration and head towards JB Sentral.
