What to See 

Kōchi is one of the less explored regions of Japan. Here are some of the places that you should visit when you are there. Kochi Castle that was built between 1601 and 1611 is one of the most famous castles of Japan. Harimayabashi is one of the most famous landmarks of the city that has the famous red bridge that is popular because of the legendary love story of a 19th century Monk attached to it. Chikurin-Ji temple is a charming Buddhist temple founded in the 8th century and has famous statues in its treasure hall. Make sure that you visit the Makino Botanical Garden that is next to the temple that has a massive collection of tropical plants, a separate medicinal plant garden, flower garden and many more. If you love water sport, then do visit Kasturahama Beach, which is a beautiful beach on the outskirts of the city.  

Tip: You can check out the dates of the Yosakoi Festival that is an annual dance festival held every year. The festival usually ends with a Sake drinking competition.
