One day in-person workshop to learn foundational skills for facilitating restorative circles. One day in-person workshop to learn foundational skills for facilitating restorative circles. Restorative practice supports people to manage conflict, resolve disputes, and negotiate agreements in criminal justice, health, and education systems , and in family, workplace, residential, faith, and other communities . In all of these contexts, a facilitated restorative circle can support a group of people to make sense of a situation together, then make an agreement about how to improve that situation. This one-day workshop introduces foundational skills for facilitating restorative circles, including circles with large groups of people. The workshop is for people who are (i) new to restorative practice or (ii) experienced with restorative conferences in restorative justice programmes, and interested to explore the use of restorative circles in other contexts. Participants will examine: the types of situations where restorative circles are most effective; the different circle formats most suited to these types of situations; facilitation techniques to use across the different formats; and how these circle processes and techniques can help manage community relationships. You may also be interested in attending our other one day workshop ‘Reimagining and extending restorative practice (for experienced practitioners)’ on the 18th of June 2026. These two workshop days are standalone in content but can be booked together as they are being delivered on adjacent days. This event has been CPD approved by the Restorative Justice Council . Attendees who participate in the full 6 hours of the workshop will receive a certificate for 6 CPD hours. Cost: £100 (early bird) / £120 (full price) Early bird rate is available until 30 April 2026 The workshop is fully catered with tea, coffee, and lunch provided. We are aware that many people can have their registration fees covered by their organisation/employer as part of their CPD and would prefer to be invoiced for the workshop cost. We can invoice for multiple attendees and workshops on one invoice – please contact admin@minthouseoxford.co.uk to arrange this. Information Source: The Mint House | eventbrite

In this year's seminar, Dr Edward David will help us explore the changing landscape of belief and spirituality amongst Gen Z and beyond. How is the landscape of belief changing? Who are the spiritual and religious role models of the younger generations? What do the spiritual and religious lives of Gen Z - the first smartphone generation - look like? In this year's Stella Aldwinckle brunch and seminar, Dr Edward David will help us consider how young adults are reshaping the religious imagination and engaging with world religions. Postgrads and postdocs at the Univeristy of Oxford, across all disciplines, are invited to join a roundtable dicussion on the theme of changing relgious beliefs. After a short talk introducing key ideas and questions, attendees will have time for small group discussions over refreshments. Free tickets for htis event include, tea, coffee and pastries ~ Those on career breaks from postgraduate study or research are also very welcome to attend. ____________________________________________________________________________ Speaker Bio: Dr Edward David is the Director of the Associateship of King's College and Lecturer in Ethics & Values at King’s College London. He completed his DPhil at the University of Oxford and subsequently held two postdoctoral fellowships: first as a Research Fellow in Oxford's Faculty of Theology and Religion, working on ethical leadership via a John Templeton Foundation project; and subsequently as the McDonald Postdoctoral Fellow, associated with Christ Church, Oxford. _____________________________________________________________________________ About the Stella Aldwinckle Seminars: The Stella Aldwinckle Series is inspired by the life and work of Stella Aldwinckle and her friends including Iris Murdoch and C.S Lewis. Aldwinckle was a graduate of St Anne’s college and the women’s chaplain of the Oxford Pastorate from the 1940s-1960s. Encouraged by women students at Somerville, Aldwinckle set up and chaired the University’s Socratic Club, inviting C S Lewis to stand as President. Over many years the great thinkers of the day came to debate philosophical and theological questions in an open and intellectually stimulating environment. Amongst them were Iris Murdoch, Elizabeth Anscombe and Dorothy L Sayers - who all studied at Somerville, the College we are delighted to use to hold this event. Through this series we hope to emulate these women in asking some of the big questions about what it means to live a good life. Information Source: The Oxford Pastorate | eventbrite
