This new roof, made of steel, concrete, wood and ceramics, is propped up by tree-like columns that appear to grow out of the soil, partially racked on the reserved old house racks, floating above the stately original skin, making it the building's biggest feature, in high-profile language, People who have been visiting Barcelona's main church have proclaimed their existence. The colours of the roof come from the fruit and vegetables on the stalls, which are like a rich sea and symbolize the warm Barcelona. The designer envisions the market as a basket full of fruits and vegetables, so the windows that are added are like wooden boxes for goods, people shuttle inside the basket to complete daily social and shopping. The market is also part of the transformation plan for the whole region, bringing visitors and opportunities to activate a whole street in front of the main church. The market is not just a city card, but also solves the city problem in the region to some extent. The market was fully renovated, reducing the number of stalls, and after the scale of the vegetable market was estimated, the original square plot was cut out and the elderly apartment was built. The apartment and the vegetable market were sandwiched into a square and became a lively community activity venue. Areas for waste collection, storage and cargo handling and additional parking areas were built underground, allowing the previously dirty and crowded shipping areas on the back of the vegetable market to be released."
