The pictures do not do this hotel justice. The location, hotel itself and the staff are truly “one of a kind”. The service is very attentive, wherever you are on the property. And everyone greets you with a smile. The 12 rooms here are all yurts. When we were taken to ours, and the door opened…it was a “wow” moment. Having never stayed in a yurt before, we were surprised how roomy they are, and there was a small electric fireplace for those chilly high desert evenings. The bathrooms were roomy too…with a walk-in shower, plush towels and really comfy white bathrobes and slippers…a nice extra touch! The included full service breakfast was delicious, and included foods that would appeal to most all people. We had lunch and dinner at least once during our stay and were happy with choices, prices and quality of the food. We spent a bit of time at the pool, and it looks exactly as the pictures show. Hotel Desertica has created a nice oasis in the middle of town. It is quiet, secure, and a comfortable place to return after a long days excursion.

OH MY GOSH! Don't stay anywhere else in San Pedro. Terrantai is easily one of the best places I've ever stayed (and I've stayed in 150+ hotels). The attention to detail, the location, the STAFF!! All so so so incredible, especially Moisés, he is truly the best. The breakfast served every day is ”simple” but amazing, with fresh-to-order eggs, fresh croissants baked every morning (yes, I had 2 per day), fresh squeezed oj, and plenty more. There's snacks and tea every afternoon, wine ”tastings” (aka glasses) every night, free parking in a secured lot about a block away, hot showers, fast wifi..I think you get the point. NOTE: there is no A/C, but it's the desert, nights are cold and honestly it's not needed. I'm usually the type of person to filter places to stay on having ”A/C” first, so don't let the lack of A/C deter you! We left our room door open for an hour or so before going to bed to let the cold air in with the fan on and slept wonderfully! There's not really any bugs in Atacama to worry about, so we also slept with our window open for more fresh cool air. Terrantain, THANK YOU. We loved it here so much, I know it won't be my last stay

The front desk staff are friendly but don’t fully explain the basis of ones stay. We were HB and you either have a choice of their 3 course fixed menu or you can take the wider menu and have a credit against your meal cost, the latter a far better option. We only realised when we took lunch on our third day and were handed the menu we had had for the last two evenings. Housekeeping is excellent, room was always remade well and turned down at night. However this is not a 5* hotel and given we paid effectively $600 per night genuinely overpriced. I would not stay here again but that is both because the value offer is sub par for what it is and there are plenty of other hotels in the area and also because they genuinely do not understand customer service. Also the pool area is tiny with very few beds around it so for the few hours you may have when not on tours you really don’t have anywhere to relax aside from your room. There is a nice outdoor dining seating area but only one table has shade at lunch. They do offer breakfast bags if your tour starts before they do which was good and they also have bikes you can use if you want to explore on wheels. Walkable to the main area of town in 5-10 minutes, location good. Be careful as you cannot pay by US$ debit card (Revolut, Monzo cards not accepted), the T&Cs at the time of booking sent by the hotel stated that ‘at the time of check in a credit card will be requested as a guarantee or another method of payment’ this is not an issue and is standard and I gave a credit card. Also their T&Cs stated ‘the national sales tax (19%) may be charged at check out to citizens of Chile regardless of the length of stay and to foreigners staying in the country for 60 consecutive days or more. To qualify for tax exemption, foreigners must pay for their stay in foreign currency (not in Chilean pesos (CLP) and present a valid passport along with the migration card that they received upon arrival int eh country at check in’. So where does this state that you cannot on check out use a debit card in US$ which is accepted universally across all of Chile, it does not state this anywhere. When checking out and presented with my hotel bill I was asked to pay in US$ ($2436.43) for our 4 night stay. I handed over my debit card and the front desk lady tried to take payment but said that a debit card in US$ would not work! She then told me that I could pay in Chilean pesos. So I converted the US$ to Chilean Pesos in front of her on my debit card (incurring fx charges) and then once I represented the card she then told me that I would now have to add 19%, where in their T&Cs is that stated!! So having been told that the T&Cs were actually incorrect and now having incurred over $50 of foreign exchange charges for no reason, I then paid using a credit card which has its’ standard fx charges. We stayed at the Nayara Atacama resort for 3 nights as a family of four. Overall, I liked it enough and don’t have any terrible complaints, however I rate it a 4 out of 5 since it could be a lot better. The property is beautifully situated. It is near the town of San Pedro, and close to many excursion sites. The hotel certainly offers lots of options to take advantage of this. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Excursions were great with the tour guides being very helpful and entertaining. Most of the time we were on our own with a tour guide for excursions. Why a 4, not a 5? We felt like there were a lot of little things that were annoying - and it added up. In fact, I would rate it lower if it weren’t for the fact that every single staff member has done an amazing job. The team just makes such a huge difference. Any request or question - they were all immediately happy to help. First, a fairly minor point -- you are essentially forced to book your excursions before you even see the room. After a long day of flights / travel, that’s not ideal. I recommend that you contact them ahead of time and figure out what you want your schedule to be - because there are many options. Second, the meal times are completely out of sync with both excursions and the spa schedule. For example, first half day excursions all end at around 12:30 but lunch doesn’t get served until 1:30. So you get back tired after a trip and have to wait for an hour to get food. The worst part was at dinner - we had to rush through our meal (only starts at 7:30) to make the 8:20 astronomy hike. We saw several other families doing the same and complaining that it was difficult to finish a meal in 50 minutes. And the spa closes at 9, which means you can’t ever go after dinner. Yes, there is a limited bar menu but we just found all of the scheduling to be incredibly inconvenient. This is especially true for kids. It would be such a simple fix to extend the meal times and create a more relaxing mealtime atmosphere for everyone, instead of adhering to a random and rigid schedule. Third - and this is the biggest negative -- my kids were utterly disappointed with the pools. These were probably the worst hotel pools we’ve seen, unfortunately. They are super tiny - and all but one are freezing cold. One of them was getting redone while we were there (and the smell from construction was strong) and the only heated pool was dirty and they kept trying to clean it… but it was pretty green. I think it is fine if adults just want to relax by the pool (in which case there are plenty of quiet and secluded spots) but if you are traveling with kids, it is just not the place for swimming. That isn’t great because kids get tired on excursions and a nice dip in the afternoon would be perfect. I probably wouldn't have booked this resort if I knew about the pool situation. A super beautiful small resort where many European and American tourists live. The hotel has complete facilities, rich breakfast, and the small travel agency and restaurant are very good, and you can stay for a day without going out. There is a car to the center of the town every half an hour. At night, looking at the night scene in the yard to see the starry sky is really amazing. The stars in the sky are super beautiful. I have never seen such a beautiful starry sky after going to dozens of countries. The most distinctive hotel on this South American trip, highly recommended!

I had a lovely stay at Our Habitas Atacama. This is an absolutely beautiful place, with a vibe that whispers family and community in the best way possible. The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful— in a way that made me feel like they were my friends and not performing their “duties as staff.” I had such a wonderful stay… I booked a chakra alignment/massage/energy work with Valesca and felt TRANSFORMED afterward. It was one of the best massages of my life. She was absolutely incredible. I arrived early (well ahead of check-in) and Carolina, one of the front desk staff, was so sweet. She did everything in her power to get me to a room as soon as possible, which was a BEAUTIFUL room with a rooftop terrace for stargazing in the evening. I never wanted to leave the property, actually, even though there are so many wonderful things to do in Atacama! All staff were super attentive and friendly— other highlights included Oscar, one of the most charming and knowledgeable staff I have met at any hotel, anywhere; Cristobal, the community manager who scheduled my wellness visit and I now feel like is one of my friends; Camila— who shared a super secret stargazing spot on the property; Sebastian, Kenny— you were both wonderful, too! I have read from other guests’ reviews that they thought the rooms were uncomfortable and hot— I went during record heat and when I requested a fan, it was in my room within 15 minutes, and it was quiet! Additionally, I found the beds to be incredibly comfortable and the rooms delightful. But most of all, what I would love to return to is this idea that at Habitas, you feel genuinely cared for and a sense of friendship and family. I would definitely book again.

Lovely guesthouse with friendly staff. Very clean and functional. It’s such a nice surprise when you come in off the street to a lovely compound. Inside is so calm with a nice pool and bistro set outside each room. It’s about a 10-15 min walk to the centre but we didn’t mind. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in the center of Atacama. Go out and turn right to the main street. The surrounding life is convenient. The hotel has a swimming pool, breakfast is very rich, free parking in the courtyard; the room is clean, the service is meticulous, and the attitude is friendly.
