Jiuhou Mountain

Zhangzhou Jiuhou Mountain is more than 20 miles northwest of Zhao'an County. The Tang Dynasty has become a resort for people to enjoy and worship Buddha, and it became famous in the Song Dynasty. According to the Song "Zhangzhou Map Classic": Yu Gong's concubine was sealed in Kuaiji, and his descendants died in Fujian and became gods, each mastering a mountain, named Jiuhou Mountain. At the bottom of Jiuhou Mountain, there are cliffs and cliffs, with the word "Tiankai" engraved on the top, and two boulders forming the portal below. Going through the "Tiankai Shimen" and turning to the northeast winding path, it can be seen that there are four characters of "Jiuhou Mingshan" engraved on the stone wall by the name of the temple and monk of the Yuan Dynasty, and inscriptions by many calligraphers of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Going further east, looking up, you can see a huge rock standing on the top of the mountain like a human being, and the small stones next to it are like bottles and jars. This is the "Three Jewels of Guanyin". Visitors come to the "Three Jewels", that is, to the Jiuhou Temple. This ancient temple was built in the Tang Dynasty, rebuilt in the fifth year of Chunku (1245) in the Song Dynasty, and rebuilt twice in the Qianlong and Guangxu years of the Qing Dynasty. The three characters "Daming Mountain" are engraved on the stone forehead of the mountain gate in front of the temple. In the main hall of the temple, there is a plaque inscribed by Huang Daozhou, "The Treasure of the Heart Washing".
