This is a monument in Verny Park, a 5-minute walk from Shioiri Station on the Keikyu Line, and is located 5th from the seaside side (the first is the Navy monument). The Warship Okishima Monument Construction Committee was built on December 5, 1983, and on May 11, 1945, it became a moat on the seabed at the point of 40 miles off Queen Carola on the Solomon Islands and Buka Island. 　ＪＲ From Yokosuka Station toward the sea, I went to Verney Park. Verney Park is a park that continues north-south along the quay of the harbor about ５００ｍ, and after a short walk, I arrived at the south end of the park. There were many stone monuments lined up there. One of them is the monument of the warship Okishima. Okishima was a Japanese Navy ship at the time of the Pacific War, and it was a warship called a laying ship.
