宜春花博园于2010年12月28日开工奠基，2012年10月1日开园，花博园位于宜春城区西侧----湖田镇，距市中心3公里，紧靠明月山机场A线，与多条交通主干线相接，交通方便快捷。花博园北侧为自然山体，东侧为江轴生活区，南侧为明月山机场A线，西侧为自然山体。

宜春花博园景观结构为“一轴、两带、三环 ” 一轴：即中心景观轴，该轴线连接了入口广场、主题大门、花博桥、花博广场、花博大道、花仙望月、五大城市名片、历史名人廊道、赏花赏月楼等重要节点，集中表现了花博会主题和宜春的人文、历史、文化；另外景观轴线往北延伸，至全园最高点—抱月楼，在景观视线上一统全园。
