Xiling Yangtze River Bridge

Xiling Yangtze River Bridge (Xiling Yangtze River Bridge), a river crossing channel connecting the north and south sides in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China, is located above the Yangtze River waterway, is one of the key projects of the Three Gorges Project transportation.[1] Xiling Yangtze River Bridge was built on December 23, 1993 and opened to traffic on August 10, 1996. Xiling Yangtze River Bridge is a highway bridge, located4.5 kilometers east of the Three Gorges Dam, and is the first suspension bridge on the Yangtze River. The bridge is a single span of 900 meters steel box girder suspension bridge, when it was first built in the same type of bridge in the country, the seventh in the world, in December 2006 ranked fifth in the country. Xiling Yangtze River Bridge is fully long 1118.66 meters, the main span is 900 meters, the full width is 21 meters, and the two-way 4 lanes (the lane is 15 meters wide, and the sidewalks are set to be wide by 1.5 meters on both sides). The bridge can carry 290 tons of weight. The white main tower at both ends of the bridge is187.5 meters high, which is 2.5 meters higher than the Three Gorges Dam. The maximum navigable clearance of normal water level is 30 meters. The main cable is constructed using the factory prefabricated parallel wire strand and then installed on site. The total weight of the two main cables is 4805 tons. Each main cable has 110 prefabricated parallel wire strands. Each prefabricated parallel wire strand contains 91 Φ5.1 galvanized high-strength parallel wire. The sling is made of Φ 45 wire ropes, a total of 280, weighing 151 tons. The bridge structure uses steel box girders.

Part of the Three Gorges Tourism Dam went to Xiling Yangtze River Bridge after seeing it. In fact, these are not far away. The Yangtze River is located in Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is the first suspension bridge on the Yangtze River. It was completed in August 1996.
